That building is too big on a lot too small. The neighborhood and infrastructure can’t handle it.

Just as hideous as the monstrosity on the train tracks on 10th-just love driving into town and seeing cemented up walls where storefronts were supposed to be! Also, where are the public parking spots? Both designs are way too urban – not a beach town feel at all.

Amen 8. I’ve been asking for years about the scam Depeepee pulled on the taxpayers about providing 21 public parking spots at his monstrosity at 10th and railroad. I heard it’s only 3hr parking, how does that help the commuter to the city everyday? The egomaniac BA Kirschenbaum was asked to put signs on the OUTSIDE of the building to let the public know but apparently he’s too busy worrying about what’s going on in Asbury Park. He should resign.

Time to start looking for other type candidates. If you keep electing these inexperienced people to office all you’ll get is more chaos. Look for other traits than education and govt. “worker” – the entire idea of govt. employment is to live a soft touch. So when such a person gets put in office, all he can handle is something easy. His entire existence has only had to do with the accumulation of dollars, not actual work with a tangible end product at the end of the days work. He has never had a calling of real work. So you must start looking at people in depth. If not, don’t expect any change in the chaos that defines our town.

none of the Belmar redevelopment parking has charging stations for electric vehicles … a real disincentive for tenants that care about the environment

10 Former Belmar Council people and mayors know how to do electrical, construction work, and masonry. People can be multi-faceted. College-educated,leaders, and hands-on. Council members, past and present, completed major “work”projects in their own homes.

#12- Can the electric vehicles be charged in an outlet? My quick research indicates yes, they come with a home charging kit, may not be as fancy as a “charging station” but if there are electrical outlets in the parking garage it seems tenants would have no problem charging their cars. And not seeing many fancy charging stations in any driveways I would imagine most people utilize the home charging kit and plug in at home without all the bells and whistles. Without knowing the demand for electric car spots a fancy station may not be needed and may be better served as a parking spot that can be of use to all vehicles.

What do you know of the backgrounds of our present council members? How do you know that they can’t do real work, like carpentry, and other types of labor? (For # 10.) You are forgetting how well the governing body here brought the town back after Hurricane Sandy.
First beach community to open for the summer after Sandy . Easy? (Using your word). I don’t think so. You seem to resent people who have achieved higher levels of education, and assume they are only “book smart.” Not true.

#8 and #9 I totally agree. I will at the meeting (virtually). I hope that you will join and make your voices heard. The only thing that makes a difference is a vocal community.
