Memory rewind. I hear the Mayor and Nicolay at the 2/2 Mayor/Council meeting congratulating Public Works for their incredible work cleaning up the town after the snow storm. Nicolay (riding shotgun in a plow for three whole hours) and Doherty (making the point that the rusty military vehicles were Belmar’s best acquisition) missed sharing the information that it took another $36,000+ in private contractor work to do the job.
The last entry is a credit. But there were also 2 bills on the Feb 2 POB for $2000 ea. So unless there’s some I don’t know about I guess it’s around $24,000.
Judy, you’re not mistaken. At the 2/2 Mayor/Council meeting the Mayor took time out of the business meeting to tell everyone his wife had given him a drone as a gift. Apparently Mr. Campbell thought it was a cool gadget Belmar really needs.
Like I said before. It seems funny how Mayor Matt and Mike Campbell Forced Employee Shaun Keefe to leave because he Mr Keefe started telling people about the wrong doing the the Mayor was doing for the Home By Summer Scam for the 14th ave house I say this because the part of town that Mr. Keefe use to plow is the Part of town that the outside contractors were paid 36,000+ for one storm. This town is insane.
The last person that should have a Drone is Mike Campbell. I don’t understand how having the drone is not an invasion of privacy. Why did the town buy him a drone. He makes 185k a year. This town would waste money on anything.
If a drone could just fly over the beach and get a “real time” view of the water, why waste money on a lifeguard tower on the new safety building ? Just get a bunch of drones ! Can’t wait to see the headline “Belmar’s Drone Crash Lands into Beachgoer’s Head”… Lawsuit pending ! My point is, why even make that a possibilty ? Bad idea
So I guess someone could go over to the DPW and ask to see OUR drone. Then one could compare that drone to the one the mayor owns (the gift from his wife). So there should be 2 drones in town OURS and the mayor’s. I wonder if this is a superman Clark Kent moment never see them both together.
Lets say that the Mayor said that he wanted the drone to take pictures of the beach. At least then he could have an arguement. But why does Mike Campbell need one. Their is no excuse. Their is also no excuse why the Boro would pay for it. I bet if you went back into the Boro reciepts you will find the receipt for the Mayors ‘gift’.
Maybe they can use the drone to take a look at the roof of the Environmental Air Systems building. Oh wait, it’s not there. It blew away during Hurricane Irene and they put a tarp on it. That tarp then blew away during Hurricane Sandy. If code enforcement used it maybe they could be fined or forced to tear down the building. A drone could get a really good look at it.

I thought I public works guys did the snow removal. At one of the meeting the Mayor said the drone was a present. Maybe I’m incorrect.
In whose name is the DRONE registered since Belmar is the secondary buyer or should we say pass through buyer?
Doherty and the Drone, Dangerous Duo. Cannot trust Santa any more.

Oops. Guess I’m ready for politics … I know how to over inflate costs.
Petes the guy who piled up corner snow onto freshly shoveled public sidewalk.
The big yellow rigs required Operating Engineers to clear main street businesses walkways after a week.

What purpose does the Belmar drone have?
Also, why doesn’t the town shovel the ends of the sidewalks next to the street so people walking on the sidewalks do not have to climb over drifts?
Dress up the drone in a blue outfit and fly it around houses?

A few things Matt needs to take into consideration before flying his tax payer funded toy around. http://uavcoach.com/drone-certification/
