One Down, Three To Go

By yesterday afternoon the Borough had a link to the Republican 29-day R-1 report.

But the Belmar conflict of interest laws, which we had to fight so hard to preserve a few years ago, state that all forms submitted to the state have to be submitted by the same due date to the Borough. In addition, candidates are required to send a list of all donors under the $300 limit that triggers the state’s reporting requirement. Or, if they want, they can just report on the state form all donations, even the small ones the state doesn’t require them to list out separately.

I’ll let you know if the Democrats ever decide to file anything anywhere. I would suggest though that all the candidates and their treasurers look over Belmar’s conflict of interest laws so they don’t get tripped up by them.
