Good for them. It was hard enough they lost business due to hurricane. They do not need to be yanked around now too. Horrible. Belmar will lose huuuuge
Ready…get ready… here it comes…Frivolous! Ha ha
You know anonymous this isn’t funny, so maybe you are right knowing the mayor this will be his reaction but get serious, because your town is in the crapper.
the middle class families are saying…
I scream
U scream
We all scream for ice cream!
Do the taxpayers/voters of Belmar realize how inept this administration is? Or is it corruption? Is it a little of both? The mayor and business administrator need a course in ethics and contract law. And the borough employees who blindly follow them should open their eyes when told to do something they know is wrong and do the right thing! Have a conscience!
Morals #5, they have no morals. It is now disgusting as to how business is conducted in borough hall and the voters of Belmar are fools if they keep allowing the moral corruption to continue.
#5. Well at least ( soon not to be reappointed ) Zoning Committee member Tom Burke does. See his most recent rank calling out Connolly for incompetence on :Tom Burke Belmar View. Of course Connolly had to do a number on the BBP to get old Tom to state the obvious.
Will all the lawsuit people form a line please. We will get to you in due time
I forgot the date but in Sept. the Judge in the first federal case will hear the defendants request to dismiss. Stay tuned!!
#9, and the beat goes on and on and on while the numbers go up and up and up.
The patterns of the current Belmar administration are clear, just connect the dots. Dave-Dave-Dave-Dave without you we would be so uninformed.
First they were hit by superstorm sandy and then by superstorm Matt and Colleen
How can they justify not giving their security back? And the list goes on
Vendors were given a 50% rent deduction after Sandy. I think they got a pretty good deal. Each vendor saved 50% off their rent for 4 years, this easily paid for their trailer.Simple math 25k saving a year for 4 years is 100K savings. The saving might have been even greater.
#12 Sweet – are you kidding me? Given a 50% rent reduction on a space in a building that no longer existed? or at best in exchange for a 30 ft piece of pavement that they had to supply their own structure for? How is that a “good” deal? When everyone is given a discount – then the discounted price becomes the fair market value because no willing buyer would have paid the full price.
#12: Is that your defensive argument?
I’ve been trying to figure out who in the council was connected to Merri-Makers. On page 10 line 60. (it states) Further, upon information and belief, the Borough Administrator was a former employee of Merry Makers.
Funny how she’s the one who is approving all the pre-booking of the Taylor Pavilion. Can’t make this stuff up!
#13 Don’t let the facts get in the way of your opinion. The open bid for those spots were 40k each, modified lease spots people paid 15k for each spot.Do a little research. My numbers might be off slightly but that is the ballpark. So fair market rent was 40K per trailer per year. Some trailers were very ugly with broken windows and trashy looking. Some were very long in size.
I daresay that the attorney for Belmar is likely to remove this matter to federal court (where Belmar does not have as bad a track record). Mr. Shaklee ought to know that by pleading federal constitutional violations he has presented a federal question, thereby warranting federal jurisdiction at the election of the defendants. If you’re Belmar the last place you want to be is Monmouth County Superior Court.
Federal…. as in RICO?
# 15 Belle: Thank you for your post Belle. Now living in Florida, I count on this blog for the facts. Until your post, I did not get the whole picture. Now I got it. I know for a fact that The Boathouse Harmons did not grease the wheel with the Doherty Admin. and their chronies in Building Dept. Thus the payback was Salt. The new owners of a Deli on 16th faced similar troubles in Pay to playland.
I pointed out in my original post about the subject that she used to work there
Sorry, Found it at the bottom July 18. Considering all that has happened- Cruz Bay taking and serving on Beach, 10th Ave. Freeze out, freeze out, mentioned in lawsuit, should be a headline, I am sure I am not the only person to miss it and see how it is the news. Love your blog u know.
We miss you Ted
Belmar gettin hosed on this lawsuit and Salt.
