I wonder how many DPW workers it took to pull a twig out of the ground.
Money well spent right .
Idiots
#1 – Sir, I’m shocked, shocked that someone would blaspheme our great DPW as you have. I demand an apology in the name of all that’s good and fine and wonderful with Belmar. If an apology is not forthcoming, I demand satisfaction.
They removed them for the Seafood Festival (it would look bad). They’ll probably replant new ones so they are here for summer then they will die again etc.
I heard that palm tree say negative comments against the mayor and council on Tuesday…and today it is gone…..hmmmm
Soggy cow patches are in store for the NJ Paid tourism event at sliver lake in Belmar Friday, Saturday at the very least.
all the palm trees look sick …. survival rate may be low …. there is one with some green @ the South End near Lake Como.
Speaking of the seafood festival. What’s the sign about in front of the mini golf course?
What does Matt Doherty have against palm tree???
He buys them (with public money) just to kill them and then throws them away. If this was an animal he would be in jail.
I believe Mayor Matt suffers from Dendrophobia.

I think we need a memorial service, or vigil for all of the palm trees Mayor Matt Doherty has killed.
Can we get some candles and such? Maybe pictures of them when they were alive. A blow up palm tree in remembrance. Why do they have to keep dying for no reason?
Where is Petot when you need them? People for the ethical treatment of trees.
In all honesty. I think the whole palm tree situation was Mike Campbells idea. The palm trees makes him feel like he is still a cop in San Diego.
#4 – Really? LOL!
#9 Free not-so-subtle campaign ad paid for by the citizens of Belmar under the guise of being a welcome to the Seafood Festival? Since when is it only one individual welcoming people to the festival. Isn’t it all of us Belmarians and vendors that would be welcoming everyone? Ridiculous…
Palm trees
Since when do Palm trees grow up in the north? Two years they have not survived so why are they spending the money? We would be better off if we planted tomato plants and sold the tomatoes and make money. Just a suggestion.
Campbell’s was way too short for any big city PD.
