We Don’t Need To Be Forced

We already give more than anybody else.

The Charities Aid Foundation has released its 2013 World Giving Index, which ranks the world’s nations based on their populations’ frequency of contributing various forms of charity.  Note that the world’s 6 major English-speaking countries topped the list and that 7 of the top 8 have cultures that are rooted in Christianity.

1. United States

2. Canada

3. Myanmar

4. New Zealand

5. Ireland

6. United Kingdom

7. Australia

8. Netherlands

9. Qatar

10. Sri Lanka

This reaffirms my belief that Americans are good people and that we will take care of each other without being coerced.  You see, to my mind any good that comes from governmental “charity”  is negated by fact that it requires force to be used against peaceful honest persons, an act I consider to be immoral and unnecessary.

Government doesn’t add value.  It only decides who to help and who to hurt.  And generally a lot more people are hurt than are helped when the government gets involved.

Have a peaceful 2014.
