NON UNION!!!!!!!!!
Some of us who live in the north end have noticed that the mayor is having the exterior of his house remodeled……….
Well I was thinking of maybe fixing up my own house, so I placed a call to this Dennis J. Frank Construction. However I had to cross them off my list because not only do they not participate in any sort of apprenticeship program, they are not even union!
I don’t understand why the mayor would want to underpay his workers and also take such a terrible chance with workers who obviously must have no idea what they’re doing.
Thanks, G

Councilman Magovern should be pissed! What is good for the town should be good for Mayor Doherty!! Magovern was a big champion of making sure employees are trained properly when doing work in Belmar. Blackburn also stated how it ‘invests in our future’ to have an apprentice program. I’m sure they will have long stern talk with the Mayor about how good it is to use unions labor. Who would have ever believe that Mayor Doherty says one thing, yet does another?
I just found out why. The Mayor can’t make money through his wife’s company by giving a no bid contract to his own property. He looked over the contract and figured out that it would be him paying the bill, so he went non-union.
Nobody called my Union boys. I gotta find out why. This stinks worse than the fish thing.. Maybe time to change who we back..
Learned People: My case is simple. It is
based on our first Article of Faith: that
the Almighty Mayor created this mess in his own image that he set himself apart
from the rest of us and made himself king of our community

yes, especially political animals.

Priceless!
I don’t understand. What is the background or back-story to this union and apprenticeship stuff with the Mayor?

Back to the barnyard, we have the weasel leading the donkeys, a few owl-elephant hybrids listening and watching, a herd of lemmings, a big goat, a few chimpanzees, a grinning jackass and a shapeshifting panther, even that old crocodile, yours truly, who can hardly squeeze out a tear or two. In sum, there is huge pile of poo that stinks to high heaven—an opportunity for, dare I say it, “waste management”. Wait, I did say it. Sniff…
Tonight I explained in the Patch how this works. No contractors run apprentice schools they are run by the Unions the students attend and 3 years later they graduate just like any trade school. Then apply to the local of their choice. It is not for the feint of heart. A call to the main office in Edison would help with the correct information to avoid any of the misinformation. Tulip
Yo Tulip …Trouble is there ain’t no work… NJ broke
Mr. Vito
If you are union you must know there are other employers besides the state. It will get better I hope for all of us. Tulip
Yo TULIP I KNOW THAT BUT WHAT GOOD IS IT. MY GUYS CAN’T WORK OUTSIDE UNION…It ain’t going to get better. The damn state of NJ is BROKE.
What a bogus story. I’ve never even heard of a local residential general contactor that was unionized. The NLRA only covers private employers that do business in interstate commerce. There can’t be too many Monmouth county contractors that fall within those parameters. “Haters gonna hate”
GRE>>>> SHUT UP !!!!
Mr. Vito Certainly your boys should not cross the line but it has to get better it can’t get worse. Look at the local electricians that own and run their own businesses who have joined the electricians union that works. Maybe. Tulip
