I’ve been hesitant to write about this but after thinking more about it I decided to share it.
Wednesday morning I found this needle sticking out between the front door and back door of my car.
After reviewing the tapes from my security cameras, the cops searched the neighborhood and told me they found the guy and that he told them he just wanted to throw the needle into the street, then decided to try to break the needle off the syringe by jamming into the door gap. He said he then panicked and drove off leaving the needle sticking out of my car.
Look at the tape though. View it full screen. This happened at 6:09 PM Tuesday Aug 12 while my family was inside the house. (The camera’s clock is off by one hour.) It looks like he tried to leave it laying on my windshield wipers but it bounced off the windshield and the hood and then into the street. He then got out of his car and stuck it in the door. And he doesn’t seem panicked at all. Looks rather deliberate to me.
Anyone know this guy?

This is deliberate criminal activity against a targeted vehicle owned by the administrator of this blog. Watch the maroon vehicle start to move forward, then back up slightly to readjust his wheels to the right to get closer to Dave’s parked vehicle. Notice the front wheels are turned toward the right after the wheel readjustment. The “drug addict” then stops alongside of Dave’s car and “aims” throwing the syringe directly at the windshield area. You can see him looking where to throw it through the open window. The syringe bounces off the hood to the street. He then gets out, picks up the syringe walking to the driver’s side door, visibly forcing the syringe into the door handle. This is not typical behavior of an addict, they are certainly not concerned with littering and less concerned with breaking off syringe needles for safety. Typically drug addicts want to keep their syringes. The police investigated and reported the known drug addict told them he was just trying to break off the needle, panicked and drove off. This warrants further investigator as it is not a random act.
That jerk should have an alful lot of explaining to do. Looks to me like someone was trying to set Dave up.
This act will probably be just another incident that the Belmar PD will whitewash. How much heroin is in Belmar, the Monmouth County leader in administering opiate reversal medication to overdosed druggies? He violated your property so I say off to jail and then off to rehab – at his own cost.
Sign the complaint. Looks like he was targeting you.
I have often heard that if the local PD is not co-operative that the next step is the State Police for help. Any thoughts on that?
I received a reverse 911 call telling me to vote yes on Tues. I didn’t realize organizations could pay and send reverse 911 calls. Seems like poor use of the emergency notification system. How much to send a message?
Why that car? why broad daylight(guy stupid)? why? why? why? why?
Set up set up that’s why
Everybody knows my car. I guess not everybody knows I have cameras.
IT IS TIME FOR ALL TO RECOGNIZE THAT ANYTHING TO WIN SEEMS TO BE ACCEPTABLE TO THE LEADERS OF THE YES TEAM. THE ACTIONS OVER THE PAST MONTH OR SO ARE JUST PLAIN SHAMEFUL AND SEEMINGLY SUPPORTED BY THOSE WHO PROFESS TO BE OUR LEADERS. WE NEED NEW LEADERS AND NEW DIRECTION IN OUR COMMUNITY.
NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO START.
The police told you he is a known addict? Is this considered acceptable behavior by addicts in Belmar? This act was not done by an addict. At the very least the person should be fined for littering not let go because they are an addict.
My wife found our No sign in front our of street this morning. Second night in a row it has been ripped from our front yard. Looks like I need a camera..Dave can you please email me info about type of camera cost, installation ect. Thanks
Yo Dave……..Now everybody knows you have cameras… By the way that guy has a nice car…Was the needle tested for drugs? A known addict………..Lock him up…
Looks like a message to me. And it should definitely serve as a message to all of us. If this is acceptable in Belmar then the problems in our community run deep. I agree with Joy this looks very deliberate, and considering what just happened to Tom Burke is deeply troubling. I would take it higher if the Belmar PD punts.
I think Brian Pringle is also right. this is not an addict. Once he put the syringe in the door handle it looks like he intended harm. Was the syringe tested? what was the substance? Do we accept syringes washing up on the beach. Very disturbing.
Perhaps we can incorporate a needle exchange program into the pavilion plans so we can better serve the addicts of Belmar.
Not to make light of a dangerous and ominous situation, I would suggest a “porcupine protest” near Borough Hall tomorrow, on the 19th. Now THEY have needles! But then, not enough “Yessers” would get the symbolism. Maybe the cops would understand.
It’s clear as day what this guy was doing. I think you should consider taking this to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office so they can investigate not only what happened, but also why the Belmar PD closed its investigation on the basis of such an obvious BS story.
Thank you, Mayor
Maybe that guy did’t really mean any harm he just wanted to needle Dave. Get the point. In any event there are numerous charges that can bought against him.
On our planet an ape that does this would be sent to the forbidden zone. What a fake excuse.. And the cops bought it…Sad…
I don’t get the humor. Years of intimidation, attacks small and not so small, smugness, arrogance, bullying and plain old disrespect. The mask is off. Those who enable need to get their
realities checked. I will continue to expose their very dark underbelly.
“but also why the Belmar PD closed its investigation”

Mayo Pringle,
Sir,
I’m going to stand up for the Belmar PD here. I don’t know who really thinks they’re a real police force. All they’re up to is giving tickets for broken left tail lights, running a light, maybe smoking on the boardwalk (as long as the person doesn’t look too intimidating – male or female), etc. Anything beyond something like that is way, way out of their league. When you look at a Belmar police officer, just remember the old Flip Wilson line, “What you see is what you got.” How’s that for standing up for the Belmar PD?
I think that the people knocking the Belmar P.D. are yes voters just trying to piss them off at the NO voters. I have no reason to be unhappy with them in fact to the contrary. Most of the NO voters that I know are upstanding citizens and think highly of the Belmar P.D.and they always fix their left tail lights when broke.
If you believe the current administration is manipulating the police force than you have completely lost it. Why not look at how Ken Pringle manipulated the police to prosecute a citizen for calling him a girl. http://starnewsgroup.com/weekly/2007/07.26.07/pdf/07.26.07.pdf
Actually I visited the police this morning and I am satisfied they are taking this incident very seriously.
Mark:
The good news, is that the bullies are on your side. Go find a blog that cares what you think.
It’s not the Mark you think it is. This is the first time this Mark has commented. Anyway, all comments welcome here.
There are not bullies. There are conspiracy theories about how the town is placing needles in a car door and getting revenge with porta potties. Outlandish accusations like this only serve to isolate you further from the reality that this is actually a pretty great place to live. And the people here are pretty great too. But these accusations only serve to put neighbors against each other. When what we should be doing is helping each other.
Mark, there really was a porta-potty in the driveway and there really was a used needle (with traces of God-knows-what on it) sticking out of the side of my car. When you see something with your own eyes it ceases being a “theory”. And I never said the town put it there. Maybe that’s a conclusion you jumped to.
I saw the pictures. The was a porta potty in the public street in front of Joy’s Neighbor’s house. Mr. Campbell explained why it was there. Political retribution? probably not. The deranged over reaction of a woman who doesn’t get her way ? Far more likely
Mark, the door opened right into her driveway. The porta-potty people told Carmine that Mary Brabazon told them to put it there, not Mike Campbell, and that it struck them as being unusual that she wanted it so close to a private residence. The County declared it a health code violation. And this is after the mayor publicly stated he would go “through” her to get his pavilions built if he had to. And she’s deranged?
And what about the dirty needle in my car? Am I over-reacting too? Is there a perfectly innocent explanation for that as well?
I’ll agree with the mayors observation. She is deranged. As for your needle dilemma it seems you and your “followers” have jumped to the conclusion on your very own. Joy has concluded it is deliberate and targeted against you. She is the expert on criminal activity so we should trust her opinion over the police
oooooo. Not very objective after all. And like I said, I visited the police today and was quite pleased by what I was told. Stay tuned.
I rest my case. Again, Mark go find another blog. No Kool-Aid drinkers please.
