News From Beyond

While we wait for events to unfold and information to be uncovered here in Belmar, let’s have a look at a couple of out of town stories that might be of some interest.

First is the proposal made to Asbury Park that it raise parking fees for tourists by 100% and residents by 3900%:

Could parking fee rise from $30 to $1,200 in Asbury?

Further up the coast, Long branch is getting a new boardwalk and a sea wall:

Last New Jersey boardwalk to return in Long Branch

And finally a story that should make Mayor Doherty thankful that his critics are so polite to him:

WATCH: Mahwah councilwoman calls mayor piece of !@#$%, flips double bird

Meanwhile, I and my sources will continue to snoop, root, dig, burrow, scratch and sniff looking for the Belmar news and information needed to fill your Belmar news and information holes.

“vulgar” is derived from “Vulgate” …. St. Jerome’s 4th century version of the Bible …. authorized by the Roman Catholic Church for common language peoples.
The Mahwah Councilwoman did her job by appropriately scolding the others with vulgar language.
    Amen

As I watched that video of the Mahwah council, I noticed a female councilwoman on the left who twice asked what she was voting on. That would never do of our own female councilmembers. They don’t wonder in any way about what they’re voting on. All they care about is voting “yes.”

Tom, if you don’t vote yes you’re being divisive.

I was glad when Harry Reid said he was not running again. I was absolutely outraged when he said the democrats have to take back the seats in the senate and the congress. How pompous and egotistical he is !!! Will they ever say they are going to help people, instead of themselves?????? I doubt it!!! If you ever disagree with them you are racist, anti women, homophobic which is used incorrectly and will do anything to besmirch you!!!

If Belmar’s Council members do not vote “yes”, they would be said to be “against recovery”. Yes, indeed.

Let me add, for anyone not initiated in Belmar-speak, “against recovery” is up there with “frivolous lawsuit”, terms used frequently by the Borough’s leaders when challenged.
