The methodology:
NJ ELEC search for contributions to municipal parties. Click on it to go to it.
Nothing about 2015 is up yet so I looked at 2014.
I ran the search for municipal Republican committees for every town in the county and for municipal Democratic committees for every town in the county.
Only a handful of searches yielded results. Most produced this message:
Here are the ones that did generate results. I started with the Republicans:
West Long BranchYes, that’s Frank Pallone’s father. I met him once. He owned an auto repair shop in Long Branch and I stopped by to see him when I was out visiting customers once. Really sweet old guy.
That’s it for the Republicans. Nothing particularly noteworthy up there.
Now for the Democrats. For dramatic effect I will display Belmar last.
So first up will be Middletown
Neptune (wow, a lot!) But all were from individuals donating small amounts. This is as it should be.
Finally we get to BelmarPlus for some reason the ELEC report is missing these:
The Belmar Democrats took over $20,000 from various unions in 2014, the only committee to take any union money at all.
And, by the way, the whole reason that the parties are required to report donations, and the whole reason why NJ ELEC put them in a searchable database is because YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO SEE THIS INFORMATION and draw your own conclusions from it.

Dave – thank you for your dedication for “finding” the information that is public but not really shared publicly. You must SEARCH to find it. The information you found here is SO interesting. Yes donations can be made in support of someone or something. In this case IS the something – the Pavilion work? I would think YES! But, I could be wrong…. again, it’s FOLLOW the MONEY!!
Want a bet that if one asked the Mayor about this you would either get a blank stare or a LIE. Even when he reads this he won’t answer truthfully I bet.
Democrats always woo Unions and Unions support Democrats. Teachers Union very powerful. The funny part is the only millionaires are the guys running the Unions, NOT the Union Members. Its a great gig you don’t have to be exceptional and you get the same wage as someone that is exceptional. Also anyone hear anything about the clerk’s case, I know APP and Ledger are trying to find out.
The conclusion is a BUNDLE FOR BUDDIES BOND …. Unfortunately, EPIC lost the Long Branch boardwalk public bid ($23M) …. and now …. Belmar markers are being called.
4 Eugene we have to get the work out and put an end to this cronyism once and for all. Taxpayers Wake UP!!!
I love the smell of corruption in the morning…
Same old, same old. Corruption never ends, especially in Jersey.
Time for some new leadership
It’s easy to help stop this. Sign the petitions going around asking to separate the Taylor project from the vital Lake Como granted project. The reasons the mayor gave for bundling have been disproved. The grant is NOT GOING TO BE TAKEN AWAY ACCORDING TO THE D.E.P. nor is it cheaper to borrow all the money in one bundle. Don’t let the scare tactics used by the mayor and council fool you.
#S 6 and 7
This stuff doesn’t look good but it is not proof of any corruption.
Sorry, just blame me for having common sense.
Oh. And let’s say for the sake of argument the grant was threatened under this supposed time constraint ( which again, it is not. It takes months just to get all the paper work etc done) wouldn’t that actually be a case FOR the unbundled ordinance? The quicker the better, no controversy smooth sailing? BUNDLING MAKES NO SENSE FROM ANY SIDE OF THE ARGUEMENT!!
Notice the $1000 donation from “Rebuild Belmar Pavilions” – didn’t someone at this address just win Citizen of the Year??
Admin Borderline, they know what they can legally get away with.
Another fine Democrat yes I know innocent until proven guilty.
