Nice to have 6 on the plaintiff side with 5 witnesses and 5 file boxes to Belmar’s William Northgrave only, 1 file box and no witnesses. Presentation is indeed everything. The substance and the arguments of course were reasoned, informed in particular law and spot on.
Did anyone go to see what actually happened in the Judges Court today? Without Dave’s video taping of meetings and the like we would be subject to the BALONEY the mayor and council have been feeding us for the past several years without knowing the truth. And, we had to pay for all his promotional materials he was blustering and HUCKSTERING to the entire borough over and over again, to boot. Is any relief in sight or do I have to go on relief as a result of fiscal mismanagement?
Didn’t hear about the court status today but I did hear about a claw back From FEMA. Yep, you got that right,CLAW BACK OF MONEY. They want 3 million back from Spring Lake.

I was there for the successful verdict producing case of Belmarians v Belmar on the beachfront redevelopment area lawsuit. I will continue to go till I can be Relocated-By-_Summer. Received my “Revised Ballot” in the mail from the Monmouth County Board of Elections today. Just VOTED NO to ratify the spending of at least 4.1 million dollar for one pavilion. Good luck to David Schneck and all my other choices.
#6 …. not familiar with the Spring Lake matter …. but, FEMA Clawback of funds for structures in flood prone areas may be more aligned with their policy of discouraging such development …. FEMA raised the construction cost of V Zone structures to discourage development on the beach …. apparently, not enough discouragement ….
Reduced FEMA funding for unnecessary waterfront development may control the weeds.
Back today for round two. Final arguments should be this afternoon. Glad to see ballots arrived. This way our Mayor can’t moan about disenfranchisement. Also kinda sad that the news media comes to Belmar for Drunk stories. Kinda like reinforcing our reputation for party town USA (sigh)

If it wasn’t for the brave researchers we’d still be waiting for the shovel ready outfall pipe to start construction the first week of September.
I was doing some math, the Taylor/5th Ave is 6390 sq. ft and the 10th Ave is 2451 sq. ft. including the second story. These numbers are on Belmar.com website.
We have already bonded 2.2 million to build the 10th. That means we are paying $897 per sq. ft. to build it.
The bond for the 5th Ave is 4.1 million or $641 per sq. ft. So the average price per square foot to construct these two pavilions is $769 a sq. ft. Didn’t we vote down spending $738 per square foot for two pavilions last August. What are we nuts. Who spends this money on construction. Voters need to know that they will carry the burden to build these overpriced pavilions.
The referendum question asks to approve paying 4.1 million to build one pavilion. Please vote NO. $897 per square foot to build two pavilions is too much. It more than it was last year. AND we will still have food trucks.

With all the lawsuits, I cant wait to see next years insurance premiums. They will go up.

Any word from the court on a ruling or when (or is today only day 1 of a longer process)?
Trial is due to conclude tomorrow. Verdict expected next week.
