This is what you get when you have idiots on the Planning Board. A lawsuit should be against not only Belmar but NJDEP since the entire marina is GreenAcre park land and this guarentees full access 24\7.

  8. Remember the murder and drunken pedestrians crossing Route 71 at the Royal Manor? Wasn’t that long ago that bar hoppers were in very dangerous straits.

    1. The mayor never made Chef’s provide ( pay for ) parking area for the Marina Grille and 10th Ave. Pier. Therefore they Borough took on all costs such as parking enforcement.
    2. The mayor in the contract with Chefs gave away at no cost to Chef’s an entire parking area at L Street. Chef’s to pay for providing jitney service for Chef’s customers from the L Street lot to the restaurant.
    3. The taxpayers should not pay for our police to handle parking, drop offs and ticketing for a private corporation.
    4. The “drive” where ticketing of Ubers and patrons is occurring is not a borough, county or state highway or road. It has no name and is not on file in the County Courthouse. It is an unofficial access drive to what remains Marina Drive. What do patrolmen put on the ticket as the street or highway where the violation occurred?

Planning Board’s responsible for setting down parking requirements before construction.

Remember that Planning Board members serve at the pleasure of the mayor who makes their appointments. Kind of like being told not to mess with mother nature.

Once again, by refusing to have the proper studies done, our Mayor has created another fiasco. In the case of the Police merger, we lost two lives. Now by not having a traffic study done in concert with NJDOT experts, we may lose a few more. How much money is left in that Mayor’s Ball kitty to dole out to additional victims of accidents? Who in their right mind would consider placing the valet/drop off point to the main entrance of a restaurant 100 feet off of a State Highway on which approaching traffic is coming down a decline off of a bridge? Where is the deceleration lane??? One of two things will happen. #1- The residents of Belmar will pay for permanent Police duties in directing traffic off of the highway, or #2- The residents will pay for another one of our Mayors bonds for another $1M to reconstruction the whole intersection.
