#2 Sounds like great talking points for Josh who is running for town council of Belmar.I wished Josh posted here, his ideas and opinions.Quality of life issues are important. Employees making 200K should be held to a very high standard.
Note: While nobody broke 200,000 last year, there were three employees that made over 180. And BTW, it was the son Michael W Campbell, the Belmar cop, that made over 180 last lear. Michael B the father, the DPW head, made 108.
#3 – Sorry that my point wasn’t made clear when I stated “well educated people …”. Some highly compensated people may have difficulty completing a color by number drawing, regardless, they are still highly compensated.
Add in medical coverage, ss and pension payments and you are well over $200k. Amazing. And don’t forget vacation, holiday pay, training and uniform costs. Oh, and then there is attorney fees to defend their actions. Amazing
#12. And a 60 to 70 k GMC leather 2500 Denali top of the line pick up truck. Not a municipal package truck. Gas. Maintenance. That may be the biggest perk. Leather? Denali? Guess u need that when the Chief and one of his Captains who rides shot gun on weekends and holidays need for their hours on the road for their back. Open the blank checkbook! Whatever they want. No problem
10 – Admin – I just took a look at 2 officers base salaries for 2016 on datauniverse.com. The two officers viewed had total income from the data you supplied in post #7 of $171,971 and $121,200. Comparing the two sources of data these two officers alone made 156% and 181% of their base salaries (with the latter almost doubling his salary) in overtime? This is just 2 officers picked. The acting police chief made 124% of his base salary? Why is our chief, as the head manager of the police department, earning overtime and why is he still acting? Is there anyone in borough hall looking after our tax dollars?
#15- Colleen and Matt write the checks and are well aware of the OT the Chief accrues. As far as the notion of a Police Chief answering (showing up at) calls at 2am on a Sunday morning it is a combination of two things: GREED (on the part of the Chief) and DYSFUNCTION (on the department he has molded). I can assure you it only breeds corruption, resentment in the ranks and sets a very poor example for those that work for him. Inefficiency at it’s worst.
#15 … Now when the spin from the Mayor starts “See, now they are attacking our first responders who put their lives on the line everyday …”, blah, blah, blah. We all must remind the Mayor that this is simply an adult conversation about the cost of services regarding the handling of our tax dollars and not an attack on the people WE PAY to help keep the peace and who protect us each and every day. Any normal human being is grateful for their services.
The DEP recommends that the township revise the compensation structure in the proposed lease to include a percentage of revenue from Chefs International.
As Mayor I would again instill a 12am closing in Belmar on any bar which is not in a zone that allows its use to exist. Second, I would find ways to work with Lake Como (any any other agency necessary) to drastically lower the occupancy of Bar A, and I mean drastically. Third I would have special police patrol the summer rental blocks, in large numbers, from 12am to 4am and ticket (those heavy $350+ noise tickets) for any pedestrians or house who make a peep of noise. 1 or 2 summers of these actions and you would find Belmar and Lake Como as nice towns which would attract respectful summer visitors.
25. Read what #24 states about what has to be done to make the 12am close work. Only the Ocean Avenue bars are in zones that do not allow for their existence so they would be the bars that would qualify for the 12am closing. Narrow mindedness and lack of a comprehensive approach and plan is why the 12am closing failed when it was last enacted. Without bars the unruly crowds would move on to other towns, like Asbury Park at this point.
Maybe a stupid question, but when was D’Jais allowed to open a bar or beer garden in the rear of their building? How does this place continue to expand without the proper legal hearings? Why does Belmar’s Mayor & Council and our code enforcement ignore this illegal expansion of their use?
The dregs of society do not leave their porches. Asbury doesn’t have creepy crawling, puking, peeing, debauching, etc like Belmar. Funny even making a comparison except Ports after dark.
The 12 o’clock closing was not a failure by any means. There was an election and the people voted for it
And it was put into effect. The slobs found another place to urinate deficate
throw up and scream all night. At that point in time the Borough hall had a basement ceiling to floor chicken wire walls and this is where the creatures survived until bailed out because we did not have a jail large enough to hold them. Did the 12o’clock fail NO
We had peace and serenity restored. The
next election brought the whole mess back the people had voted again. No one should have to live under these
circumstances and children shouldn’t be exposed. There must be a reason for allowing this to go on I for one would like to know. We come back to the mighty dollar “What some people will do to make a buck”. I rest my case again.

Police and Dpw overtime,at least someone is happy with road closures.
A police chief, a police captain, and a DPW manager all making over $200,000+ a year. Well educated people don’t even make this kind of money.
#2 – Sir, the point isn’t edumacation. The point is none of those jobs are worth such money.
Silly people….. Wilton will sell out (bankrupt) Lake Como and pick up the tab for them. Matt’s master plan for Wilton and LC.
And nobody is actually disgusted by what #2 has said?

2016 payroll here.

7 – Admin, we are to assume that the list includes all overtime? Some of what I see on that list is nauseating.
This is total gross pay for the year.
Admin – Gross sure is the operative word.

Sad …. the Belmar Recreation Dept is partnering with D’Jais to brainwash youngsters

What’s the difference between EXEMPT and NON EXEMPT employees in Belmar$?
Paying overtime a perk in contract negotiations for Superior Officers?
Run – healthy!
Free booze – hooray!
D’Jais – our friend!
Vote for Matt and Belmar Democrats – they care about us!
What does Mr. Brennan, a teacher, think about this?

Our elected officials are busy making work for the police …. D’Jais, Bar A and Marina Grille

12 o’clock close was a Nightmare! The cretins drank/drugged at their cribs from 12 till dawn for cheap, cheap, cheap.
Those who experienced the failed 12o’clock close know that it changed Belmar for the WORST.

Where the heck have you been?
28 – Unfortunately the new Asbury Park, is just as “creepy” as Belmar during the late night hours.
#28 Shop owners with busted windows on Cookman ave. would disagree with you. Plenty of late night fights in the bar district downtown.
