I remember attending a “Moth Radio Hour” presentation at a Belmar restaurant when Kenny Pringle gave a moving talk about the 4 Belmar Sailors who perished in the sinking of the U.S.S. Juneau. It was spellbinding. Not a dry eye in the house. God Bless.
Every year the Belmar/Wall “Juneau” VFW Post 2620 has had a memorial service on November 13th honoring these fine young men who went down on the Juneau. With the retirement of our post, the passing of my husband Vic and Post Commander Dan Moynihan the annual memorial service has been turned over to the Belmar Council of Churches. I have written letters in the past as to the lack attendance at these services. It is all of one half hour out of the day to pay tribute to these Belmar men. Thank you David for your post.
Joan, maybe Dave will let us know the date or maybe a Belmar Alert message might help remind us in advance of the date.
Much more important to pay our respect for our military than let’s say the sky is falling, there’s a run, easter egg, santa, surfing or parade day follies coming to Belmar.

All absolutely great men who died so we can be free. God bless them all.
