Knock down the Inn and build a few homes. Done ! The developers can make money just maybe not as much. Don’t be greedy ! If not, cancel the contract and reopen the Inn. Fire and building codes will keep it closed.
The original official notice sent to homeowners by certified mail from the Edelman Investment Group LLC stated:
HEIGHT: Required Two and a Half Story (35 ft.) Existing Three story (33 ft.) Proposed l Story Surface Parking with Four Story Living above (57ft)
After checking blueprints at borough hall the proposed height comes in at 62.3 ft. Seems the additional feet are above the 5 th floor and make up the design at the top of the building.
Now in the notice in the Coast Star they state the height of the building is currently 41ft high. It grew when we were not looking. Can’t keep up with the numbers. How do you even know what is true. If this number is fudged what else is fudged?
Reading the article in the Coast Star from the Edelman Group saying that there are people on board with this development I find very hard to believe because I have been in contact with dozens of people and I have yet to hear that there was anyone on board. I also get the impression that if we don’t get on board with this proposal we will get the Belmar Inn back BRING IT ON We can deal with the devil we know.
Open dialogue is good . When the project was first proposed only people living within 200 feet received a notice of the plans. We who received the notices spread the word and found a lot of people who agreed with us about the projects large scale in a single family zoned neighborhood. Will this project lead to other large scale projects in single family neighborhoods? Do we, the residents of 12th Ave, have to deal with a large structure just because one already exists? We have no other options? I believe we do have other options.
#5 Thats obviously a lie Mrs. Florio, you even disputed with a dear friend of yours a month ago on this same blog. Or maybe you just dont remember that or any other of the complaints you personally have had about the Belmar Inn.
I was at the borough this am to look at the plans for this project but I was more concerned with the one across the street from the Inn, 105, 107 and 109 12th, I was told that application was withdrawn. There was a letter sent into the Borough.
There are plenty of more attractive designs that can be submitted to replace the Belmar Inn instead of designs better suited to a city rather than a beach block. Rework the design and if is more appealing then it will be better received by residents. I personally wrote to and spoke to Mr Shipers, the attorney, and sent him pictures I thought had a more appealing design. I encourage others to do the same as he is open to listening to your comments. There is power in the Number of people who suggest positive changes in design to fit in with the residential character we desire. Go to the source of someone who can effect the change you want!
So the state is not going to pass a law that it knows can’t be enforced.

One should really take a look at the number of Condos that have risen in the last number of years. Then take a look at the parking and suggest and wonder where everyone is parking. Then comes the summer and approach the traffic
Question. Forget the noise it is uncontrollable. No longer are we a 1square mile town. We are now a Dynamic
Metropolis. The best way to fix it is to change Administrations. We fixed it.
The Commercial /Residential properties on Ocean Avenue between 16th and 17th Avenues was allowed by Plaaning/Zoning Boards despite 0, Zero, parking. You can’t get emergency vehicles down 16th in the summer. Residential properties are forced to have # of parking spaces x bedrooms. Who knew who? You’ll need a super lawyer in these parts of town, like a class action expert.
#14 it sounds like you feel entitled to have to like the aesthetics now whats next you get to pick the color theme and furniture. You are very lucky that an attorney would donate time to hear your opinion of design, I assume you are qualified licensed professional.

No condos. This tiny town already has traffic congestion problems

Brian is a dope. The developers are in a panic because the ladder climber former mayors in Belmar and LC are gone.
