I always hated that. What does “From the desk of” even mean? The letter is not from some desk somewhere. It’s from them. Why don’t they take responsibility for it? I can tell you that anything I write on these pages comes from me, not my desk or my kitchen table or my front porch or whatever. I’m looking at all of you straight in the eye even though you can’t tell.
Anyway, I think most of you will agree that the letter doesn’t really make much of a case for putting these two ladies on the Council. What is their plan other than “fighting back”?
Jim Bean, on the other hand, offers up some serious qualifications and some specific ideas. This is from his website:
And anybody who knows anything about Belmar’s recent past would agree that if you want a fight….and obviously not everybody is looking for a fight…but if you do want a fight this guy does fight.

Maybe Russo and McBride will cut the budget – they’re already sharing a desk 😉
I still think voters need a plan.
Many people want Jim Bean to replace McCracken or Carvelli.
So how does this work without electing the 2 women getting their thoughts from their desk
Cheryl and Maggie’s only talking point is to fight taxes?
Where were they when all this was occurring under Dougherty?
Where they fighting then?
Some of their previous posts on Facebook are borderline disturbing. NO THANKS
SO what’s the strategy people?
How do we get what we want ?
Vote for just one person. Jim Bean gets my vote.
I am a Veteran. What does it mean when Cheri says she “volunteers with veterans”?
Vote for this guy Bean. He has good ideas. Besides I looked like him when I was young and had hair
Bean is not the answer
They didn’t complain about Doherty because, like many people, they bought his slick BS. They’re not complaining now because he has once again convinced them that he is the only human in the history of democracy that figured out how to increase spending without increasing taxes. All while seeming, in all my interactions with the man, like a complete and total dope. That letter has his misleading, hokey, politically oversimplified dog feces all over it. He probably penned it.
I would actually vote for their desk before casting a vote for either of those two gullible neophytes.
# 6 Who or what is the answer?
#6-Totally disagree with you. Bean is the only answer.
just a pair of dingbats – move along, nothing to sea here.
Spoiler Alert: The Repubs and Bean (who combined will have the majority of the votes) will cannibalize votes from each other leaving the Dems to take two council seats. These three men need to get their heads together and figure out which one is dropping out of the race now.
Bean lives here full time, He gets my vote the other guy does not.
Anytime you believe that one person is the only person to save you,the only answer, you are doomed. Didn’t you all think Walsifer was the answer? It’s gonna take more than one person to save this town from corruption. Corruption knows no party..
#12 Who doesn’t live here full time? Curious.
11, For a Bean win it is simple, only vote for Bean an nobody else.
#6 – Perhaps Jim Bean is not a complete and total answer, but it sure seems like a vote for him will start to steer Belmar in the right direction. Unfortunately, correcting the former administration’s many misdeeds will take some time. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Jim Bean could be that first step.
#15 – Anyone voting for Bean would not have voted for one of the Dems in the first place thereby taking votes from the Repubs. The Democratic base will vote for their two candidates and as a result, will win.
Thank you Mr. Bean.
Agree#11 Mayor Mark needs to hold a meeting and decide which 2 are the strongest and 1 needs to go.Clearly residents don’t like the 2 council people sitting up there . Why chance loosing 1 or 2 seats. The Democrats destroyed our town but they will hold together and vote both candidates in . They didn’t care before and they will only vote party lines which is crazy Please Democrats do what is best for our town and forget party lines . Pick qualified people who really want to help us get us out of this fiasco
Bean is the only answer.
#18, it’s not Mayor Marks fault, its the Republican committee’s fault. They pick the candidates. A huge tax increase sure didn’t help the Republicans either no matter who fault it was. How did it get this far without Republican leadership stepping in?
I have to make a correcshun. Apparently won of the dem. nominees has bin selected by a man and is marryd. The othur however remayns a spinster (not that their’s anything wronge with that).
I didn’t say it’s Mayor Marks fault. I said he needs to have a meeting because he’s the top dog and only have 2 candidates so the Republicans can hold the 2 seats. Mc Cracken or Carvelli need to surrender to Bean. You say it’s the Republican Committees fault? Who are they? Was the committee happy with the choice of Tom Carvelli? If not why didn’t they speak up? Do it before it’s too late.If the Democrats slide 2 better candidates in ,it will be a loss for sure.
