Do we need to have this sign at all? The font is usually too small even when the head car stopped at the light on 35. Plus it seems as though they put up banners along 35 for the seafood fest and highway signs on the medians when they really want to inform people of things. Such a waste – unplug it already!!
#3 amen. Eye sore and a distraction at an intersection that requires drivers full attention. It’s a hold over from the Matt Doherty ‘Look At me!!!!’ admin. Take it down, sell it, save a couple bucks on electric bill.
#5 – Don’t give anything to that bunch of morons at the school. I told them from the getgo not to put up the sign they have now but they wouldn’t listen. So don’t double down on their idiocy. Just take the sign down and strip the copper wire and take it to Massa on Memorial Drive and get what we can for it and put it towards our debt.
#7 I can’t believe they didn’t listen to you. I’m sure you used your considerable charm, your razor sharp wit, and your gentle persuasion to win them over to your manner of thinking. Oh well, kids these days.
Look up our sign ordinance. Years ago a blinking lit up electrical signage was not allowed. It made the stores look cheap. When the large one showed up at the school I was surprised. It does nothing to improve the aesthetics of our community. Maybe someone changed the ordinance.
Lit up electrical signage and LED lights are slightly different. The Rt. 35 sign is definitely too bright because they light the entire background. The school sign isn’t too bright. It just needs landscaping around it and /or a proper foundation like brick to make it look nice. That takes money they don’t have. The sign was probably expensive but it’s really cheap to run the electricity to those LEDs.
Cut the cord on the LED ELECTRIC SIGN. Revenue sources cost how much to equal a way anyway. Our liability for the dangerously distracting sign costs money per insurance experts because we have deep pockets in the chain crossing the street to Belmar’s property, Marina Grill. Think we disallowed Pilons that sign is Pilons on steroids.

No use casting pearls before swine. Those characters are devoted to hurting our taxpayers.
“No use casting pearls before swine” Going Biblical, I like it.
It’s cute that you think the things you say are ‘pearls’. It also may explain why you’re constantly frustrated that no one listens to you.

or take it down and donate it to the school – from what I heard they are not fixing or replacing it the school one which hasn’t worked in months
Doesn’t that dangerous sign violate Belmar Sign Ordinances?
