I thought these two wanted to cut the budget yet in their last flyer they want to bring back the movies on the beach. Hey that makes alot of common sense the Boro is in heavy debt and all they focus on is the increase in taxes to cover it. So Ladies you are saying ignore the deficit and when Belmar cannot pay bills you want the State of NJ to take over??? Also how long have they lived in Belmar and paid real estate taxes???

To my knowledge, the two Dem candidates are renters and will feel an increase in their rents when the landlords have to pay more tax. I really doubt they know the history of the corruption in town and are just two sacrificial lambs for the local Democrats, unless they win and then become ignorant pawns of Doherty. I guess that they intend not to pay Belmar’s bills and make the full staff of Belmar government volunteers.

#1-What’s wrong with movies on the beach? What’s wrong with bringing back a family-oriented event? Children in their pajamas with Moms and Dads carrying blankets covered the sand at 7th-8th Ave. beach. All of the movies were suitable for all family members. Also, local volunteer groups sold popcorn at these events-giving members a chance to realize some funds for their respective organizations. The cost to the borough would be the purchase or rental of a movie screen. Kudos to Cheri and Maggie for focusing on the family!
Movies On The Beach is a win-win all around. Let’s bring back family events!

#3 – I don’t believe anyone wanted to get rid of the movies on the beach. This is not some grand gesture of the Democrats for which they need any praise. How about they come up with some real, tangible ideas and concrete strategies for Belamar’s future. Let’s hear some of that!

The movies on the beach never interested me, plus too many flies. Anyway, they were terminated because some of the equipment was broken and it was determined that it was more beneficial to save the $15,000 to replace it. Want to hold a fundraiser to pay for new equipment if the movies are so important? Maybe good ol’ D’Jais can buy a new screen/projector for the borough? It is also expensive to rent each movie. They are not FREE! Priorities, folks.

#3 nothing is wrong with movies on the beach they are coming back.Just a FYI you also have to pay movie rights to show a movie in public so don’t forget to factor that cost in.

#3- they talked about this at a council meeting. The screen or the projector, I can’t remember which (I dozed off), is broken. It was some fairly large amount of money to fix. So the council decided to hold off. Nobody was against it, it was just a financial decision. Albeit a path of least resistance and toothless financial decision but a financial decision nonetheless.
McB and Russo aren’t fighting a heartless council that doesn’t want movies on the beach, they just want you to think they are.
I figure they can use beach utility money for the broken screen (or projector). I mean it is on the beach after all. Anyone know if that’s possible?

Sexism at work – let the “girls” deal with family matters. tsk tsk. Can’t seem to break the stereotypes. Now now, mind the children…daddy is busy doing important stuff. Show them a video or something.

All people are equal in dignity. But each sex has it’s own role to play (there are exceptions of course). You’re on thin ice when you attempt to tamper with this centuries old wisdom.

#13-Go back to the dark ages. That’s where your mentality belongs. Exceptions? Are you in a deep sleep? Women doctors, lawyers, company executives, dentists, editors of magazines and newspapers, principals and superintendents of schools. No longer exceptions. Mostly the rule. Stay-at-home women are to be admired for their dedication to their families. But women can be found in every profession and in the workplace. Wake up.

Whether or not they rent or how long they’ve been citizens of Belmar seem irrelevant? I guess unless they’ve been in town for only a few months you could make they argument that they don’t know enough about the town to help lead it. They have so many other faults that the own/rent issue seems nebulous.
#12- I read every post. Not one mentions letting the women handle the movies. I can’t find anything remotely close to sexism in any of the posts. Which one are you referring to?
#13- yes centuries old wisdom is good. Except of course if you have a disease and need a doctor. Or you’re going to sail around the world. Or build a house. Or travel across country. Or fly to Europe. Or have a premature baby. Or be Jewish. Or…you get the point.

13has the nerve to call Democratic candidates dingbats? And yet any criticism of Bean is character assassination? What nonsense from a person who can’t see how wrong he is on so many levels. He won’t even accept that women have spread their wings, flying out of the kitchen. Centuries old wisdom? Give me a break.

How about 13’s idea about education? Boys should quit school in the 8th grade , climb trees and pitch stones . He slammed our public school with no background in education. We have a school with students going on to high schools and graduating with honors. What makes this person think he is an expert in the field of education? He is in a world of his own with no clue .

Was making a point that certain “softer” issues often become the haven and agenda of some females more so than of some males. In fact, the projects in town dealing with art and health were assigned to women councilpersons (Nicolay and Deicke). Is that sexist, a natural predilection, just chance? Is it a councilperson’s job to do what interests her/him personally or to serve as needed in whatever areas necessary? Sexism can be subtle. That’s all, not wanting to create dissension.

#14 – What are the Dem. Female women’s married status? Are both or one spinsters? Do either or both of them have criminal records? We seem to know very little about these two persuns of the female woman persuasion.

#21 – I’ll say that American girls should join the American boys leaving school/propaganda mill at 8th grade. I have no problem with the children of alien infiltrators continuing in the propaganda mill even though I know we’re being ripped off. The more important thing is to get our American children away from these terrible “schools” manned by mostly welfare recipients disguised as “teachers.” Obviously, I understand there are a very few god teachers around but they’re thwarted by the leadership of our state from teaching correctly.

#22 – Correct, each sex is drawn to do certain things by their very nature. To attempt to fight ones nature makes a person very unhappy as we see daily all around us.
