Not that anyone but a small circle of friends would care about my response to the proposed Seaport redevelopment but if I was still living there, I would be on the side of scaling it down. Bill and I being divers, the new plans would do a number on the many dive opportunities in the channel created by Divers 2 across the bridge. We were responsible for the Boro building the dive steps and dive platform at Maclearie Park and the area draws divers from all over. Thank God, the Colleen and gang never followed through on their proposal for Maclearie. We definitely oppose the urbanization and support the original redevelopment plans for Seaport that date back to the early 1990s and the Pringle administration. Scale matters and historically, the proper scale for the town of Belmar has been repeatedly reaffirmed by many generations.

haha! Another one who’s been indoctrinated: Old Man. What do liberals have to do with this? It must be nice to see things not only in black and white, but through a narrow tunnel that was created by daddy right-wing – making sure everything you fear and hate is caused by liberals. That way your mind can rest, be

flaccid, only needs to take an antacid

This is not a lib/con issue. If you have lived in smalltown Belmar all your life and stay there because that is what you prefer over citystyle living you won’t like this at all. Put me in that category. The comments of #5 regarding scale are appropriate as well as the support for the Pringle admin approach. We are already perilously close due to F St{haha MainStreet}”improvements” to the town to forever changing the old shore into a bastardized version of the worst of the hybrid choices. As you can tell i am not thrilled by the current admins approach and hope they get their act together starting on the boro hall plans and the rest of Main St before they dump all over the marina too.

#5 I think Ken Pringles plan had a similar scale.

  9. #5 – agree. Why is this plan so large and imposing? Highrise hotel? Please,no. I pray people come to their senses, scale back this monstrosity, and keep Belmar a charming seaside town.

Is this because people avoid staying at the Belmar Motor Lodge?
