More money down a rat hole
#1 your attitude and nasty comments about children and educators especially in this difficult time is terrible. I mean common manors, if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all.
To all the educators, teachers administrators your hard work dedication and determination to continue and adapt to this new way is appreciated by the entire community and noticed by all of us and we are grateful.
Total operating budget $14,163,808…. Total students 713…. The cost to educate a student in Belmar public schools is $19,865 each…. Cost per student to attend St Rose $13,500… Why???? LOL….
#3 – I guess that proves you get what you pay for.
#4…. Christian Brothers Academy is $17,200 per student…. Please dont tell me the Belmar school system is better than CBA….
Summer Timer what is student cost at Bradley,Neptune, Asbury, Wall, Manasquan Spring lake,Spring lake heights would be a better comparison than a public school and a private school.
Just checked the tuition for CBA and $17,200 is right so let’s have a look at their administrative costs and do some trimming! No tax hike!!
#2 All I said is more money down a rat hole. You are a jerk. Typical liberal response. If the new way works so well sell the school property and teach the “children” the “new” way. School building will disappear from the planet and save the taxpayers money. Teachers are saving commuting expense!!! What the heck are the janitors doing?
#6…. The point is the public school system is over priced for the education proved…. This over priced institution will eventually break the back of the tax payer…. It’s time for tax prayers to wake up….
How can you people be so mean? Don’t you know every precious dollar goes into making unbelievable scholars of these tykes? I’ve been told that every graduate of BEL moves on to MIT and Caltech – even the children of the alien infiltrators who we feed breakfast and lunch to every day. Now doesn’t that make you feel fuzzy all over?
My daughter is a BOE grad and finished her MBA No 1 at the Wharton Business School. Thanks for the opening. Sorry Em, couldn’t resist.
BEL, sorry, her mom was smart.
Thank You George, for the opening. Our children attended Belmar Elementary and went on the Villanova and NYU Graduate School. Both doing very well professionally. They did very well at Manasquan HS…both graduating in the top ten of their respective classes. Stiff competition-competing with graduates from Spring Lake, The Heights, Brielle and Sea Girt, and of course Manasquan. They were well-prepared from BES.
I am sure if you compare students from both public and private schools you will find success stories… Again I ask why does the public school system cost much more to educate a student???
#14 – State and Federal mandates. To my knowledge public school cannot refuse to educate a student. I have heard it is expensive to educate special needs students and get them the appropriate classroom support and services that they rightly deserve. Private schools don’t have to admit everyone, just the best of the best. Unfair to compare the two based on the ground rules set by state and federal mandates and mandatory union contracts. Private school teacher jobs are usually stepping stones for teachers before getting public school jobs with better pay and benefits. CBA and Blair Academy might be exceptions.
#15…. The only thing that is unfair in the comparison is the ever growing burden on the tax payer to support an inefficient system….
Thank you George. Giving a podium to the bigot on this blog sickens me and many others. I wish we wouldn’t have to respond to give him another shot but here I am keeping the weak thread going.
We will not teach our children to hate.
#17 – There’s nothing wrong with hating being constantly robbed.
I love all kids and young adults… We are leaving them with a huge credit card bill… I also believe every child is entitled to a great education… However the current public education system is much to expensive and needs reform… If you combine the state pension system (which also needs reform) with the current public school costs its is unsustainable… Our children are in huge debt because of these poor deals and they dont even know it… So dont claim individuals that want to fix a broken system are haters…. You should look in the mirror because the people that want to maintain status quo are doing real harm to the youth of AMERICA….
#19 – I also believe every child is entitled to a great education
—————————————
Two thirds of BES children’s parents don’t pay taxes (alien intruders). Therefore those children don’t deserve any American taxpayer funded education, great or otherwise. Plus, the small point that they’re for the most part, minimally, intellectually,capable/dumb.
20- Not at all so. Many of the beat students at BES are of Mexican parentage. I’m close to the situation, and I know this. The government thinks otherwise about educating children of all ethnicities. Check the Constitution. Go argue with the Supreme Court. The children of Mexican families are for the most part capable and intelligent. Students receiving top honors from area high schools often have Hispanic last names. How do I know this? The honor rolls are posted in local papers. Check out the names of doctors and other professionals. Many have Hispanic last names. An engineer that I presently worked with is Hispanic. Hispanics are proud of their heritage, and pay no attention to prejudicial remarks like those posted in # 20. They know what their capabilities are, and move forward with their lives.
The Aztecs and Maya were master mathematicians and astronomers. Witness their sophisticated calendar systems and architectural marvels. I would venture that the abilities are embedded in the genetics of the indigenous Mexicans. Society and its strictures, etc., can shape humans and change their orientations but not the basic codes of dna, maybe during the course of millennia, but here and now, I would not assume that a certain population is inferior in its intellectual ability. (Yeah, yeah, blame it on society, it made me stupid. Sure, heard that one before, but a criminal, well, maybe.) Just postulating here.
#21… Again I believe ALL KIDS should have a great education… And it’s great that minority children are successful in school… BUT the BES does not have very good test scores when compared to other public schools in NJ…. On this very blog individuals have posted that the low scores are mainly because the minority students are not capable… So considering your close to the situation why are the scores so low?? Is it the minority students or poor teachers???? Please enlighten me….
20-What position are you in to judge the Hispanic students as limited and/or dumb? Are you a teacher? Do you give tests and grade papers? Do you have an opportunity to speak with them? Ask them questions? Do you know that the Hispanic students take physics and calculus in high school, and do well? And not just a few from this culture do well…many do well. Not so dumb, after all! Did you take these subjects in school, Mr. Dilberger?
23-Test scores don’t tell the whole story, although BES scores are improving. Success after HS graduation gives the true picture of success for our students. Most go on to colleges and good jobs. Don’t put a lot of stock in test scores. Young people grow physically and intellectually over time.
25…. Got it…. Scores do not count and cost does not matter… Because YOU THINK MOST of your students go on to college and good jobs…. That is not a very compelling answer…
It is compelling-what is it about growing intellectually that you can’t comprehend?
#21 – Of course hispanics are doing great as you say. Everybody knows all businesses and govt. agencies must have a quota of each protected group, hispanics, blacks, women, homosexuals, fat people, assorted deviant groups, the list is growing, etc. I like that comment on our stinking supreme court – good joke.
————————————-
Do any of you wish to comment on the small point I made that the American taxpayers are being robbed? I can just see the hispanic students enjoying their meals they just robbed from us (theft of services). It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
27…. With all do respect… Test scores and budgets are tangible topics that can be used to determine the effectiveness of an organization… Growing intellectually is not a analytical measurement it is simply a statement…. If you stated the students grow intellectually with data supporting their career success I would agree with you… But your answer is simply an empty statement with no actual FACTS….
29-Certainly intellect can be measured by on-going success in school subjects, grades on report cards, types of jobs and professions our young people sign in for-and possibly improved levels on intelligence tests.
28-Unbelievable! You would deny a child a free lunch (?). Children born here of Hispanic parents are not “illegal aliens.” They are automatically Americans because they are born here. So they are entitled to free lunches. I’m so pleased that lunches are being offered given the corona virus situation. Jobs for Hispanics have nothing to do with Quotas. And even if they were, Hispanics are capable of carrying out their responsibilities in the work force. If they do receive positions due to quotas, they then are successful in their jobs. Some of the positions don’t involve quotas The jobs they’re taking on don’t require quotas. Try the fields of medicine and executive positions. Many Hispanics in these fields. Why is the Supreme Court a joke? And also…what is the new way of living?
31. They are “entitled” to free lunches because they are born here? That speaks volumes. I was born in this country and I dont feel “entitled” for anything. My children never got free breakfast, lunch or dinner. Since when did it become the schools responsibility to feed everyone? I thought the schools were for learning. I worked damn hard my whole life to provide for my family. Maybe they should stop having so many kids if they cant afford to provide for them.
28-So another reason for hate, Mr. Dilberger? The Supreme Court is a joke?
The highest court in the land?? Added to the long list of things you hate/dislike/don’t endorse -schools, teachers, young people, non-walkers,
government, quotas, Hispanics, gyms, virus is a hoax , and now the Supreme Court. The list goes on and on .
Stop! Humans born in “the Americas” are American.
32-Thankfully you could support your family .Some families are less able to feed their children properly, although they make every effort to do so. A balanced meal at lunchtime might be the only time that a child is properly nourished. Therefore, school lunches are necessary in certain situations.
#s 31&33 – Your support of criminality and corruption is duly noted.
————————————-
#33 – Well said sir.
Stop the BS and offer FREE lunches to all kids. Settled.
#35…. Newark gets 500 million per year in school aid… Paterson gets about 200 million in aid… We are funding minority communities above and beyond what is reasonable… There are deep rooted issues in these communities that funding will not correct… Do you believe giving more funding will solve these issues??? Learning and success of a child starts and ends at home… A proper family structure is the key which is absent in these communities… Government handouts are obviously not correcting the issues…
I wonder how the families and children of the Irish immigration felt about the taunts of interior race back when they were trying to climb the ladder?
#39 You must be a dumb liberal. Back then you had yourself and family to help. To many people on the wagon and not enough pulling the wagon no. The country is broke and we give free stuff to illegals. It’s over. The average person does not stand a chance.
36-Not so. As is previously mentioned, Children with Hispanic parents who are born here are Americans. Not difficult to understand unless you refuse to do so. Duly noted? Stop pretending to be an intellectual Mr. Dilberger. We all know where you are coming from. Your comment about supporting criminality is laughable..the world according to Dilberger. Very narrow vision of life and the world.
#41 – Yep, “DULY NOTED” – Believing theft and corruption are fine and dandy as 31 &33 said are just part of the new manner of living I suppose. Far too much TV.
#41- Correct. And the parents are here illegally so they should either go to jail or go back from where they came from. They will now be taking precious jobs that true Americans will need as there will be fewer of them(jobs).
