Although I have been a Doherty basher in the past as I do believe he is one of the reasons why property taxes have soared (the main reason is the failure on the part of the present admin. in reducing the budget) I do give him credit on investing money in Belmar real estate. He could have done this in Sea Girt or Spring Lake.

#2 – even though they could likely afford it, they would not move to a fancier overall town like Spring Lake or Sea Girt. Such a move would not fit the narrative they continue to build upon for future political aspirations. In general people hear Belmar and they think normal shore town with no idea of the houses in the exclusive Inlet Terrace area. You say one of the other town names and homeowners would quickly be labeled as evil one percenters. Would not be fitting for community organizer’s resume.

    #6 you’re 100% right.
#4 haters are going to hate regardless, if he bought in Spring Lake/Sea Girt then all of the critics would say look he abandoned belmar and took his tax dollars to another town after what he and colleen did to the town.
At some point get over yourselves, be a part of the solution not a part of the problem.
