Any mention of cuts? I might have missed it. An very average letter to the citizens of Belmar
These unprecedented crowds have put a tremendous hardship on our lifeguards. I watch them almost daily making save after save. They are the unsung hero’s that work hard every day to keep us all safe.
Couldn’t even sign the letter. Talk about not wanting to be personal with the people that voted for you. Thanks, Mark!
#2-I think the PD also deserves praise as well. They also risk their lives each and everyday 365 days of the year. Police have taken quite a beating these past few months so lets please acknowledge them as well.
Not one single word about why your taxes are going up astronomically, again for the seond year in a row. Any mention of perhaps slashing the huge salaries these people are getting?? Or slashing ANY department’s budget?? NOT. Make me puke. If I didn’t know any better I would have thought this letter was from our former mayor.
I’m with #1. He must have forgotten to include the page that shows where cuts were made. Forgot the page and forgot to sign it. It makes sense.
Anonymous no disrespect to the PD. They do a good job. I was just commending the lifeguards for their hard work during this busy beach season. Especially with this heat wave coming. Good luck to all.
Budget cuts? Salary cuts? I heard a rumor that will make every taxpayer sick. I won’t say until it’s confirmed next week. More to come, I promise.
#8 Don’t say that word. “Raises” ? I’m stocking up on aspirins for this inevitable announcement soon. God help us now.
4. First Responders encompasses Belmar Police, Firefighters, First Aid, etc. Read the letter again for Police references as well.
In a potential firestorm of people coming to the shore to escape the heatwave, Belmartians would be well served to stay in their homes this weekend. If you’re honest you know the majority of locals never went to the beach on weekends anyway.
A little off topic but hey Mayor Higgins Lake Como. Great idea to pave the major street in your town in the middle of the summer. Your a genius!
Mayor Walsifer can you tell me why ex police chief Parmisano is allowed to park 2 vans and his pickup in the marina without moving them? They sit there all day/night long without moving taking up spots for my customers who have limited parking available to them. Parmisano uses the marina as his personal junk yard storing all his crap in the dirt parking lot. I would love to see the lease allowing this. Chief Scott won’t do anything, how about you? BA Kischenbaum?
#11 A way above average dumb idea.
12 …. They protect their own.
The videographer will be there today to forward it to news media.
Guess all u all missed the $5,000,000 in Principal off the Debt we paid off – the last administration didn’t pay $5.00 – in 8 years! Please stop with the whining on budget cuts – once the debt is paid off and our Lake Como Policing deal is re-negotiated – we will see a substantial tax cut and an improvement in services
#16 We need budget cuts now!!
Admin, did you know about this document?

#8 if you are talking about a certain individual coming back to take over the job of a arrogant POS that doesn’t know which end of a hammer he should hold and treats the employees of Belmar like POS I am okay with that for now.
Hey Master Blaster, what do YOU think about giving a BS 90k un-needed job to former chief cone man at a time when most people are out of work and are struggling to pay their taxes. Cone man has a secure 100k pension, can’t he get by on that. I bet you don’t have the bells to answer that. Go away.
I don’t have the facts on the $5mil but it sounds like the prior administration had dropped the ball on this and the new one resurrected and collected on it. They certainly deserve congrats for that,a big plus for taxpayers. On the otherhand that does not excuse going into taxpayers pockets and spending $$$ for BS positions and always looking to add costs and never looking to reduce them. So #16 and #20 are both right but also both wrong. Give credit where it is due and criticize where due as well. and do it vociferously and maybe it will get into their heads.
