This hearing displays the basis of all that is wrong in New Jersey. It is time to vote every incumbent out of office and instill term limits.
It’s time to call-out the bills sponsors, all of whom do not represent the communities with the seasonal liquor licenses, and who have taken substantial and documented political contributions from the owners of D’Jais. What is the most effective way to collectively accomplish this?
This is absolutely ridiculous. This testimony was preceded by 2 hours worth of heart wrenching testimony by people that are still displaced from their homes and are battling the state trying to claw back money that was given to them to rebuild their homes. All of that testimony and this committee had the nerve to bring a bill forward that will benefit ONE bar for ONE day. That’s a slap in the face to all of those other people that went to Trenton yesterday to share their own personal struggles of rebuilding. I find it hard to believe that this is such a partisan issue. The only reason is because the one that stands to benefit gave money to one particular political party:

Wonder why all the demoRats voted yes? Because they all probably got $$$ for campaigns from the beneficiaries. The state of NJ is crap.
Thanks to all who went to vice their opposition to this farce. Thank you Jim Bean for reading the police call records. Those politicians are bought and paid for. Sickening

We need to change the zoning to prevent bars opening year around in residential zones. D’jias 39 pages of police calls!Maybe,We should go back to midnight closing.
I agree with changing the zoning, however they might sue.D’jais is not getting a big boost,kids are in college and not coming to Belmar for spring break.Their food is not high on the Zagat list so the people are running down in droves.It will be interesting as only the strong will survive.Anchor Tavern like its predecessors will have challenges as I have had mixed feedback from many people as to would they come back,my poll is 50/50 time will tell.

From her “why am I even here” display, it appears like Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker had her mind made up on her YES vote before she even got to Trenton yesterday.
Sad.. instead of enforcing the laws- the officers assigned as neighborhood contacts for the blocks surrounding D’Jais advise potential buyers not to purchase homes – saying that anyone living in the vicinity will have “no peace” “drunks vomitting on lawns” during the summer.. misery extended.. can’t wait to move.. if we can sell our place..
If you remove the food source, the pests will go elsewhere. Remove the animal house rentals, bye bye D’jais!
Why if the owners of D’Jais owned a year round license did they sell it? Is it because they can’t have year round as a nightclub and want only to capture the St. Patrick’s Day Parade?
Someone please get some pictures or video of the drunks leaving dejays tonight they are having a Halloween party.
