In this morning’s inbox:
Hi Everyone,
URGENT – THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE. Please contact Governor Christie this weekend if possible and implore him to VETO Bill 1850 (aka The D’Jais Bill) which would permit DJais to operate their 2 seasonal licenses starting March 1st. The more emails the better.
The Coast Star reported on 2/16 that “Bill 1850” to permanently extend the seasonal liquor license operational period by 60 days (seeks a 3/1 start vs. the 5/1 start currently permitted by law) was approved by the NJ State Senate and now sits on Governor Christie’s desk for review. D’Jais Nightclub has a large occupancy capacity and is a grandfathered, non-conforming use located in the midst of a residential neighborhood. D’Jais currently owns 2 seasonal licenses – one in operation on Ocean Ave and the other held “in pocket” WITH PLANS TBD ELSEWHERE IN BELMAR. Most year round liquor license holders in Belmar as well as the NJ Licensed Beverage Association deeply oppose Bill 1850. You can contact the Governor’s office in the following manner:
E-mail the Governor at constituent.relations@nj.gov & copy amanda.dalton@nj.gov
.
Call the Governor’s office at 609-292-6000
.
Go to www.NJ.GOV – go to “contact us” tab – go to select email topic and choose “law & public safety” – then choose the sub topic “alcohol beverage control”
.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Thank you to all you wonderful people in our 1 square mile town who are trying to preserve our homesteads and protect our children from additional nights of screaming FU TONYs, vomiting, assults, drunk drivers and street walkers. Thank you for your efforts in trying to reach the Governor’s office to ask Governor Christie to VETO A1850. Your legislators have spoken. Let’s hope Governor Christie has the might to stand up for the residents who lived through Sandy.
Don’t allow djais to bus in drunks into our beautiful town during our winter.
They actually bus these kids into Belmar,so they can drink all day.
