About Last Night

I’m sorry but the upload of the video to YouTube appears to have gotten hung up and will need to be restarted.  Unfortunately I’m in Newark and won’t be able to deal with it until I get home tonight.

It will be worth the wait but it is not recommended to be viewed by anyone at risk of stroke or heart attack.

Pretty much, it wasn’t much of a meeting until the end. Then, all hell broke loose. I don’t usually think in terms of “sadness.” But the overall display of immaturity, treachery and just plain mean spiritedness of our township authorities does make me sad.

In 2013, I was asked to plant a memorial tree for a long time Belmar resident. The two women involved asked Brian Magovern for permission, Mike Campbell gave his input, and also the Belmar police Dept. No permit or vote was needed and we had a memorial service at the lake, (very close to where Joy’s tree was proposed) and we planted a beautiful tree. The people of Belmar need to speak up and reject this Mayor. Is this what you want to represent our town?

Thank you Bill Merkler. Maybe Brian will explain why he removed his brother’s plaque from that tree planting at the lake. Did the mayor tell him to remove that plaque?

    Cruel is as cruel does.

Maybe because the plaques disappear. Before Sandy the plaques had disappeared from some of the boardwalk benches. There were plaques on the rockers at Taylor’s Pavillion MIA and so were the rockers. In the case of the tree for Terry Magovern it was a donation from 2 very long time friends.
The tree still stands does get personal care and it bothers no one. In this case the same thing would have happened the true would have been cared for and not in any violation let alone a resolution. How pitiful is this situation? Very.

In this case the tree for Brian’s brother was planted by 2 very old friends of his brother

Many of the plaques on the benches at Pyanoe Plaza are missing also. The plaque for my parents, Francis and Patricia Pyanoe has been missing for a long time now. Our family would like to know when it will be replaced.

    No plaque was requested.

No ordinance states a resolution or permit is needed.

The Shade Tree Commission is the ultimate authority for granting tree plantings.

This is political suicide, yet someone couldn’t help themselves from thwarting the planting. What did that action achieve?
It brought the full force of Joy’s spirit to the forefront. Joy lives;)

#10. I lost mine in the middle of the summer before Sandy. I never expected any reimbursement because they were fund raisers. The benches and plaques were more expensive than the rockers and plaques but they were enjoyed by a lot of people. So……..
