Seems like a lot of change of traditional patronage jobs. They must have poled the lifeguards and beach workers and asked who they plan on voting for in November.

I wish they would add Honest Mayor and BA to that list. That would bring a smile to many.

I hope they did not chase Kevin O’Donnell out. He is extremely dedicated to that position and works very hard at it.

I think they are doing this to cover their tracks over the lifeguard debacle to make people think that it’s not only them they are replacing. It’s sad our town has come to this vindictive place of Doherty and Connelly. Time for them to be replaced.

#4 I think the person you are referring to was either beachfront supervisor or assistant beach front supervisor. I don’t know him but heard he is a really dedicated person. I would apply for ticket seller but I’m just average.

interesting …. the Borough’s Code established the following Departments and each department head has the title of DIRECTOR-

    a. Department of Administration.
    b. Department of Finance.
    c. Department of Public Safety.
    d. Department of Code Enforcement.
    e. Department of Public Works.
    f. Department of Parks and Recreation

it seems to me that Lifeguards should report to the Director of Parks and Recreation because legal bathing is recreation …. let the police enforce prohibited swimming, tents and beach soliciting laws.

When an organization is clearing house, the administration in charge will never tell you the true reason you were terminated… There diffinitly is a shortage of qualified life guard staffing, so just move on to the next opportunity… If I was terminated and they called me back, I would not return to an organization that questioned my ability to effectively conduct my job… So just move on to a better situation….

So Mr. Administer, you are saying in #8, our present mayor, Matt Dougherty, is following the former mayor, Ken Pringles lead in dealing with the lifeguards. Is that correct ?

Initial clearing house is the current Recreation Director’s Spouse, the daughter of a Lake Como Council person, who ironically works for Belmar as well. Big Circles fat chances for new applicants for either job.

The present borough clerk for Belmar-April Claudio-does an outstanding job in her position. None better. She is knowledgeable in all facets of her job, and gets back to residents who request resolutions to issues. Her reputation in the borough and with residents is golden.

#11. Wouldn’t be surprised if most already have. Sad for Belmar families and visitors that have developed relationships with returning guards. Part of the value of their experience. Maybe all guards replaced with Specials hired by PD

Belmar. Dougherty. Lake Como. Wilton, Wilton’s wife gets new position at Belmar School. Witte’s daughter April and her husband both in Belmar. Nepotism, political hacks and favoritism is alive and well in Belmar & Lake Como. All is well, nothing to see here.

It’s not like April just strolled into the job due to her Dad’s position. She started down in the ranks, showed an outstanding work ethic and intelligence. She became borough clerk with the Pringle administration. Apparently he thought she was worthy of the job.
