If Bean gets in I hope that he and Walsifer can put their differences behind them and work together for the common good of the citizens of Belmar.
Please have a debate that the public may attend. I would like to witness these people in action with each other. No one gets an excuse not to participate.
#1 – I am sure that at the least Bean can.
Jim Bean is a good man. When on council he always voted with his conscience to do what is right and was viciously maligned for doing so by the M&C. The difference between him and others has always been that he has zero political aspirations and will not serve any master. Jim has my vote.
I asked for a debate. Don’t know why we never have them but I know all candidates have to agree in order to have. I think Jim and Seebeck didn’t want to debate when they were running. I could be wrong.

Following this blog and politics in Belmar it was a curious thing that Tom got the open seat. Maybe there is inside baseball stuff that I don’t know about or maybe the new Mayor and council just didn’t want Vickie or Jim up there with them. Looking at it that way, it’s almost predictable that the Republican’s in town would split in two factions. All it took was the tax increase to light the fuse.
When leaders in town can’t or won’t work together, mostly because of ego, the split party will get beaten by the unified opposition.
Somebody please find a solution to get the republicans back all on the same page.
#6- It appears Jim would not have fit into Mark’s style, of just passing along all of the fat and pork the prior administration has added to the budgets over the years. Mark (no pun intended) my words that come next year budget time this new admin. will again increase spending and will force another 10% tax increase down our throats, all along continuing to blame Doherty and crew. This year was the time to make the difficult choices of cutting spending, and they fail horribly. Shame. I guess if I could afford to live on Ocean Ave. I would be in the situation to be able to handle a huge tax increase. 98% of the residents don’t and most live on fixed incomes.
Vote for Bean and McCracken. Those two can get Mark to listen to reason(i hope)
I’m a registered Dem but will vote for Bean and MaC…..Bean always questioned the previous admin during the Council Meetings and his protests fell on deaf ears…and I feel MaC is very sincere and hope he will back cuts which I feel Bean will propose….GOP needs to get behind Bean.

I’d heard every possible variant of my name by 3-4 grade (although, in those years we’d never heard of such a device but certainly some other kid said it not even knowing what he was saying) in the playground of PS-92. Second- I was making a point about unfair generalizations. I wasn’t really calling Tom an old coot. I was pointing out that it would be totally inaccurate and completely unfair to always refer to him or anyone his age as a dottering old coot. Just as it’s totally inaccurate and completely unfair to use the derogatory word ‘spinster’ to describe women who happen to not be married. You can just use the word woman to describe her.
But as I feared, he didn’t get it and neither did you. Maybe one day you guys will get some clarity.

About words. Try to rid yourself of the use of the child’s word, “fair” and all it’s derivatives. Simply put, life is [unfair] and that’s all there is to it.

Words such as “old coot” and spinster don’t hurt unless the person is weak and let them hurt. It’s entirely up to the person him/her self. If they let someone else control their feelings through their own weakness, then life will be very hard on them.
