I would never vote for Jim Keady for anything! Some years back I was at church at St. Rose with my children. Jim Keady shouted out at the priest in the middle of mass and made such a scene. He was escorted out. My children were frightened. I had to leave church that day and try to explain to my children what it was all about. If he had an issue, he should have met with the priest privately. He had no respect for anyone that day … I have no respect for him.
#6 … it was during the sermon. He stood up and started screaming at the priest. He disagreed with something the priest said. I was in such shock I don’t remember exactly what his issue was. There were elderly people and children in church. It was disgusting. If he is running for Congress, maybe someone should ask him. I’m sure he remembers it. If our councilmen/woman are endorsing him, obviously they were not at that particular mass that day. Anyone reading this blog at that mass? I believe it was in the late 90’s or the early 2000’s.
I wasn’t at the mass but I know Jimmy was angry that the priest was endorsing a candidate – telling the congregants to vote for a particular candidate.
#19 – Interesting. You brought up the subject sir and said you didn’t know why Mr.Keady was yelling at the priest. Now you at least seem to know it wasn’t about politics. Do you remember any other subjects it wasn’t about? Maybe we can narrow down the search for the subject by a process of elimination.

#8 – If the priest was endorsing a candidate from the pulpit, then Mr. Keady was being a good American – 1st Amendment. It would’ve been the priest who should have been escorted out for violation of the Constitution.
#12 – Mr. Keady’s angry outburst happened during the sermon (the priest’s talk on a passage from the bible). The priest was NOT endorsing a candidate. I don’t remember what his disagreement was and frankly his outburst was so outrageous and disrespectful, my concern was my children. They were scared. Perhaps someone can ask Mr. Keady what he disagreed with that day. But I can tell you, the priest did NOT endorse a candidate that day. He said nothing political.
I remember Keady’s church outburst clear as day. I was sitting towards the front in the aisle. The priest was talking about the Virgin Mary and Keady began screaming belligerently about how the Virgin Mary had a baby out of wedlock (and implied she was not a virgin). The Priest tried to explain, but Keady was not looking for an answer, he was there solely for his outburst.
Whether it was due to personal reasons or not, the man that stood up during mass that day is not fit for any office.
my concern was my children. They were scared

#13 – I’d like to touch on this subject a bit. I don’t know where this concept of sheltering children from their surroundings started but I see nothing to be gained from it. Children are part of this world we live in. They are susceptible to everything we adults are. There are all sorts of storms in life. A guy getting up in church and mouthing off doesn’t even amount to a small 5 minute squall at sea that effects no one. I find your reaction to this [tempest in a teapot] more curious than any long term effect on your children who probably forgot about it an hour after mass.
It was a teaching moment. We discussed it when we got home. We were in church. I think everyone there was shocked by his behavior. No one knew where it was going. As a matter of fact, my children do remember it. And I can tell you they laughed when they heard he was running for congress. And they can vote now. It did not scar them. They learned that day that there are crazy people in the world.
Joy was not an extremist. When she believed a wrong was being committed, she used the proper channels to try to right that wrong. In all the time I was fortunate to work with her and call her friend, she never disrespected anyone.
Katrina we all mis Joy so very much. Be warmed though because her spirit is with us. Happy Valentine’s Day to the Elements, one for all and all for one.

He is a loose cannon and will never win elected office again.
Yea I remember that guy. Thought he moved to NH? Guess the Demorats have nobody else
Remember Weiner was a confrontaional nut job b4 he found cell phone friends.
Then there was Chris who lost his big picture race because of his distemper and loud mouthing off for the cameras.
‘Endorsements from Entire Belmar Democratic Delegation’ is like getting a kiss from your sister …. Congratulations!
#1 – Sir, Why was he angry with the priest?

Think of Joy – if the priest told us to vote for Matt Doherty for freeholder last year – she may have done the same.
It definitely was NOT about endorsing a candidate. It was during the sermon. It had nothing to do with politics! AT ALL
#10 Correct it had nothing to do with politics, shameful behavior.

Extremists just don’t get it.
The priest was saying honosexuality is a mortal sin. He was giving a very Catholic conservative view on honosexuality
#9 I must say Joy had to much class and respect to do what you think she might do in a church.
Joy was not an extremist. When she believed a wrong was being committed, she used the proper channels to try to right that wrong. In all the time I was fortunate to work with her and call her friend, she never disrespected anyone.
Dear God, I miss that woman!!!
