Belmar Payroll Over 40% Higher Than Manasquan

Almost identical populations:

But Manasquan’s 2016 payroll was $5,664,211 as compared to Belmar’s $8,033,971.

Further research is needed to see what accounts for the large difference.  Shared services maybe?

Absolutely absurd, there is no way the public knows about Belmar’s 8 million dollar payroll. We all need to share this information.

In 2009 Richard Wright campaigned against Doherty by using a Manasquan/Belmar comparison. Nobody cared. It’s 2017 and the same is true. Nobody cares.

Could not agree more that further research is needed. The towns are not only similar in population but in physical makeup as well. I believe Manasquan may be larger in area. So what areas of their budgets are so disparate and why?

I know why. We pay our employees 50% more than Squan. Democratic towns seem to do that like clockwork

#7 I would say in general you are correct about towns run by democrats however I believe Manasquan is and has been run by the dems for quite a few years so further investigation is warranted. I can remember good fiscal management in Belmar…….Ferrugiaro, Taylor and Maclearie.
