Bye Bye, Bayonne!
Let the shit show begin.
#2 The shit show began when Doherty, Magovern, Connelly and crew were in office. It ended when they left. Although I dont care for Carvelli. I wish them well.
So I just hope we don’t get anaverage performance from these guys and one lady. Something spectacular must happen for this town to get back to being Belmar. My guess probably not
I love the taste of liberal tears in the morning, tastes like….victory!
I am optimistic, a rare condition for me. Next best thing would be if Doherty left town.
thanks to all the little elves who removed political lawn signs before sunrise
Matt picked 2 of the worst candidates, he has thank God lost his mojo. Thanks to Jim Beam for taking the votes away from the Dems. The Republicans MUST be better communicators moving forward to show the voters it is a no brainier to vote for them. If i were a Dem candidate the first thing i would do is apologize for my party causing the financial shortfall and will work together to make Belmar a better place. Hey Democrats calling people names to people who dont agree with your agenda is a non starter. They will loose big time in 2020.
#5 Before you start tasting tears I’d pick up a news paper. A lot of blue victories in places like KY and VA.
But true, here in Belmar the Doherty defeat is very sweet.
Democrat Northerners moving out of their over taxed States for Republican low taxed states is a conundrum because guess what their give away habits will destroy those States as well.
Now it’s time for Matt to head back down the Parkway and give his full attention to that little Shangri-la known as Atlantic City. His services will no longer be needed here – ever.
If you want change than attend the council meetings and voice your concerns and share your ideas. Don’t leave it up to the mayor and council to read your minds. Get active and stay active because it’s our town.
#10 that’s a fair assessment but I don’t think that a lot of people from the northeast are moving to Kentucky.
Anybody have a good meatball recipe ?
Now I would like to see Mark Walsifer call Jim Bean and have lunch. Mend fences and lets all move on! Jim brings go stuff to the table, and we would all benefit from working together!
Great. Now our right wing leaders can keep our PBA attorney as labor counsel to represent the Borough’s interests.
Please keep investigating the former administration’s questionable actions. Matt, Colleen, & friends had some dubious financial deeds occur during their reign.
#8 I would have hoped that after the way Doherty and Connolly left the last Council in the lurch, he couldn’t convince qualified candidates to run as Democrats. But, it’s more likely he hand-picked these two because they were fresh faces with no association to his administration, and because he thought he could count on them to do his bidding.
I’m proud of our community for seeing through this attempt to blame the current administration for the financial debacle Doherty and Connolly left behind for them to clean up.
But while yesterday’s results make clear that Belmar voters have Doherty’s number, this isn’t quite over yet. The Bayonne PAC-funded negative campaign pieces we all received were timed so voters would not learn who funded them until post-election reports are due on 12/6/2019. So, mark your calendar. It should make for interesting reading.
In the meantime, congratulations to Jim McCracken and Tom Carvelli on their very strong win, and to them and Jim Bean for running positive, issue-driven campaigns. I hope we can all work together to get Belmar back on a sound financially sound and sustainable footing.
I think they’re not due until January.
#17 Amen!!
The proof is in the pudding. A clean slate and a positive campaign brings in a successful and clean victory. Now lets make the town meetings so you can voice your opinions and learn what is going on. Viva Belmar.
This Election proved that ridicule and abuse not only didn’t win nor are rude tactics ever motivating or effective.
Soliciting and entertaining excellent suggestions while dealing and managing people, on a fair basis, improves each and every one of us here in Belmar expeditiously.
22 – What??
So the Campbell cover-up will continue.
The Campbell and Huisman coverup will continue. Watch
Same old story. Nothing is changing. O salary cuts, 0 overtime cuts, same players, same town problems. Can’t wait to complain all year till the next election.
Instead of spreading possible misinformation on this site, go to a mayor and council meeting and ask about this supposed coverup. If it is regarding the photo of furniture and a truck in front of Campbell’s house, my understanding was that the furniture was donated to Belmar and Campbell was storing it or something. If clarity is needed, ask for it from the proper source. Appearances can be deceiving.
27 – I agree, Belmar needed bedroom mirrors and dressers, so thank you Mr. Campbell for first removing said furniture from your property, storing it in a borough building, and then being so kind as to returning it all to your home for further storage.
Believe me. There’s lots of cover ups that go on at DPW and the Police Dept. The furniture is minor. Campbell and Hiseman either need to go away or go to jail.
There is an episode of Gomer Pyle in which Gomer goes overboard with “citizen’s arrest, citizen’s arrest.” Why not ask Mr. Campbell what was going on? Why do we use fake names to comment? I guess we all are lily-livered gutless chickens.
Soon you will hear about all the new building projects and town hall.
