Last month in a WOBM story:
Doherty said his decision to seek county office was prompted by last year’s tax hike. It was the first time in five years the Freeholder Board raised taxes.
“We’ve had no property tax increase in Belmar since I’ve been the Mayor and I saw last year how the Monmouth County Freeholders increased taxes millions of dollars,” Doherty said. He added he would put an end to those extreme tax increases.
I don’t know if I would call the county tax increase “extreme” but in any case it looks like it’s going to be largely undone:

Hmmm. I guess now Doherty doesn’t need to run for freeholder and if he doesn’t need to run for freeholder maybe he doesn’t need to screw around with Belmar’s pay to play ordinance.

Oh no !!!!!!!!!!He isn’t going to run???
Damn
He will run and he WILL screw around with pay to play ordinance. He has to open the gates and build up his war chest. Unless we stop him that is.
I hate to do it, but thinking I will sell my house and leave town before the Doherty’s plans come back to bite me…..
He will still run..he needs a job…one that pays more than Belmar.
4-He wants to suck the blood of the tax payers of Nj and keep his pension in order.
Can’t wait to hear the “Doherty” spin.
