How much was spent on the pavilion vote, which is now being ignored?

It was $17,000. Highly doubtful anyone is getting voted out though.

#6 we tried to vote them out. Think about this, the yes/no vote they lost 60% to 40% and Dems Reps and Inds all voting. We tried to stop the DJ’s influence. Mike got more votes than Matt. Jim is a man of integrity would be a great mayor. They lied about Tom Dave Jim and Matt. Yet the idiots in this town vote them back in every year. You tell me how to do it and don’t bloviate, and we’ll do it.

That reminds me of learning to handle some nasty pneumatic tools when I was a young man. If they got away from you, they’d give you a heckova beating. I’d ask how to use it and the men said there’s a proper position to use that machine without getting hurt, find it. Same with us, no one is going to tell us how to get rid of these characters, we have to find the way ourselves.

Which one there have been so many hushed lawsuit settlements Belmar pays. One thing is for sure we will not hear about it at any council meeting. Since we never heard about the last $925,000 settlement.

Why aren’t the insurance, FEMA and Buy a Board funds listed on the bond ordinance with the pavilion like how the grant money is listed with the lake como and streetscape projects?

Voodoo accounting. Nice thing about numbers – clever people can manipulate them to paint whatever picture serves them. And the voodoo part castes a spell of blindness over many who do not understand the facts. Confuse, divert attention, hide the facts, advertise the free cake. Free pavilion? Give me a break. (Remember the new beer garden on Ocean Avenue that the mayor mentioned to the Wall Street Journal? Could that be established in part of Taylor Pavilion? D’Jais is still holding an unused year round liquor license, as I recall.)

#15 You don’t need to know that, or anything else that has to do with how public money is spent. This is not a public municipality its a private members only country club.

Eek the trouble with this town is you could go to people who support the mayor with proof he is (fill in your own adjective) dead to rights and they will still support him. Either they are afraid of reprisals or they have mutual intere$t$.

#19 & 20 I think you are both right which is pretty scary. Belmar like the country seems to be almost split on the federal administration as well as the local. I have seen much grumblings by democrats on the federal’s way of doing things and yet in Belmar even though sued and lost the local dems are quiet WHY????? Very intriguing.

Power to the people, right on…am having a 60s flashback. A permit for a gathering with sound amplification, a crowd of noisy protesting people, maybe a march and a local news tip-off? Gotta attract more people than the Christie appearance a couple of weeks ago. Just a thought from a rebel at heart.
