Ridiculous expensive and unnecessary planning from an incompetent administration. This is Colleen Connolly’s fault with Doherty telling her what to do in the background. If Belmar residents do not fight this they will loose trees and one of the only available grass fields in town. A bunch of nuts run this town and I’m not trilled with the many residents that do not participate in change.

Thank you Dave for your post.
The above link to C. Connolly’s Sept. ! hearing slide show on Belmar.com Projects says it all. We are exhausted trying to keep of with the changes. With each change without resident feedback and without Belmar being upfront about the estimated costs, they have chosen to deliberately confuse all. The latest is there are no phases. There is only Phase I. Phase II funding denied December 2015. The Green Acre Grant money is only 25% of the approved project. The present plan is for slightly over 1.2 Million or a grant of no higher than $300,000. Monmouth County did not grant on the most expensive thing in the project, the grass paver parking. The association calculates (like the pavilions) more than 50% of the expenditures will be taxpayer liability. Because Belmar refuses to hold a hearing, we rely on social media to get the word out.

Wow and I thought the pay to play ordinance changes were confusing!!!!
So do we have any clear cut idea of exactly what they are doing and how much it will cost us?? I know you said 1.2 with a 300,000 grant but is that really it? And are they still intent on those parking spaces? Which we, I assume will be paying for? It is like the pavilions. The DEP application in Trenton still had the two story building when I saw it very recently.!!! Belmar makes so many changes no one is able to keep track on what’s going on!!

#3 Sure. You can OPRA Belmar for the current Maclearie Park Plan, plus, a copy of the project scope and corresponding Maser estimate and finally a copy of the amended CAFRA permit which Maser completed 1/29/16.

Those Interested view Magovern, Brennan, Keown-Blackburn and then Connolly in response to the elephant in the room, namely the large footprint in the riparian zone ( CAFRA ) for a several story sailing building.

#6 – Good question. I’ll try to answer. The other towns don’t have a completely ridiculous council I’d say. There may be certain members of the other councils who are as silly as ours, but not the entire councils like ours(two teachers, one failed cheerleader and one “pilot”). As far as the mayors go, I’d say none of them are as childish and self centered as our boy wonder.
