At least they have insurance (unlike the Mayor’s Ball.)
There’s no page 2 here, but compared to other applications there doesn’t appear to be anything missing. It looks like they might have been switching around the page numbers. Other applications had out of sequence page numbers too.
Review and approval never filled out.
Paid in full in advance. 17 events @ $1500 each.
Single application fee.

Claire and Brian, lifelong residents, are you pleased with this? Was this your vision for Taylor? When will you stand up for your town against this outrage??
Here is another caterer advertising Taylor Pavilion, I guess they will be the next ones to book up the dates. https://falcoscatering.com/venues/taylor-pavilion/
Going by this weeks Coast Star and the story of the seniors using the church , one can easily assume that this was the plan all along. Also in the paper is Claire’s letter to the editor thanking Chris Brandel for his generosity would be nice if this group could use the Taylor as everyone in town was led to believe. One has to wonder how this is going to look when the town has the appeal on the funding of Taylor.
Receipts????
Can you imagine any civic or religious organization being granted permission to prebook those dates with one application? I don’t
So is this application approved or not? The page for the borough official is totally blank.
Too bad the Coast Star didn’t do research to include in their article offering the Church as a great gain for Belmar seniors. Maybe the ad revenue makes them think differently about news items.
There is a large add in yesterday’s coast star for Merri-Makers and Taylor!
what’s the date of the 2018 seafood festival ? I assume they probably didn’t book that wknd , sad times 🙁
Matt Doherty – Thank you for selling out our town and duping us all on the use of the Taylor Pavilion.
Why was no taxpayer allowed to opt for the dates first. Women’s club first Friday of each month plus two other dates for card games??? Maybe we have to find another home.
Donations in kind. pay to play?
#7 – The seniors were lied to about the uses of a new Taylor Pavilion for their YES vote and then they are offered the church as their own Senior Center. All of this at an additional cost to the Belmar taxpayers. We are all sheep.
11 – The mayor will buy all the groups off with the use of his new church aquisition. While us taxpayers will now pay rent and maintenance on this ill-maintained building, as we continue to payoff the bond for the showcase catering hall that we were all told was for our enjoyment.
Who in their right mind would have voted YES for a Wedding Hall on the beach?
The pavilion should be reserved every Friday and Saturday night in the summer for Belmar’s youth and their guests for dances and other fun supervised activities.
This should be all over Facebook and tag his lame non political future
Remember when WOMEN were promped the right to VOTE and the the WIMPS, who made those promises, backed off and only “gave” the VOTE. rightfully deserved I might add, to black men only.
Our 100th Anniversary of getting the right to vote should used to put down liars and cheats in the Belmar voting booth
Doherty made a big mistake crossing the Women’s Club members by hailing their meetings in the TAYLOR.
.
#16 you are correct. Shame more people don’t share this blog on Facebook. How do you share this, I don’t see a Facebook link? Can you add one?
On-line petition… “Recall Doherty”

Belmar just ranked 12th in DUI arrests at Shore via NJ.com. Will the weddings here increase that?

If you look at at the Wall Township police blotter in the Coast Star during and post summer editions you’ll get an eye opener, no pun intended. Where do you think those offenders were over served?
CLAIRE…CLAIRE…CLAIRE…CLAIRE…CLAIRE…CLAIRE… Hello. Are you out there????? What’s your excuse for your mayors actions? Hello. CLAIRE…CLAIRE…CLAIRE. Can’t wait to see this short story.
the caterer should not be able to book dates, just the private parties. Matt and Colleen are disgusting. They have sold out the private citizens for their own self interest and perks.
This is what happens when The person making policy, writing resolutions and ordinances ( Colleen Connolly ) is not elected and thus responsible to the voters.
#22 As long as they sleep it off at the Belmar Inn they will be fine.
26: Can you imagine the mistakes, oops that my bad, will be made by the next not credible CFO in training?
If there a Compliance position in Belmar? Does the JIF Gal-o-mine require Compliance crosschecking?
#27, cops ccoping there?
# 29 – Now, is that nice???
So who is initiating the lawsuit on this?
Caterers can’t sell liquor or advertise liquor as they do not have a Concessionaire Permit. You can not move a commercial liquor license to public property even for one day.The family renting the space can bring booze, but the caterer can not be involved in the transaction.
Taylor is a public space, there are strict liquor laws for selling booze on govt grounds,at non charity events.
State Annual Permit also known as Concessionaire Permit – Plenary Retail Consumption License, where the
license will be located on State or Government property.
Marina Grill invested millions of dollars to get one of these licenses in Belmar.
Suggestions to ABC can be submitted to:
nj.gov/oag/abc/feedback.html
Attn Dave Rible
Already hearing rumors of Marina Grill aka Chefs taking over the whole Marina operations with in the next 3 to 5 years already in the works. It might be a good idea to get the elected officials on the record. Does anyone know what slips are supposed to be left open for transit ? That is how a lot of this was funded , one would imagine this was tied to the loan/ bond . I believe in theory it would work like green acres money. Something to think about .
Seaport redevelopment with no public input but insider deals. Where’s Brenan’s $$$$$
#16 Yes it should!!!!
If I were you… I would OPRA all emails of Colleen Connolly to Merri-Makers April and May 2017 to see if Connolly solistited their business and contracts in contradiction to her and the Mayor’s proclamation of increasing resident uses beyond the 2012 level of 92.6%.
If the town has the seafood festival the same time in 2018, there’s a rehearsal dinner on the Friday night reserved under a person’s name as well as a Sunday brunch. Does that mean Merri-Makers already saved their wedding date but they went to the town for the other events? I’d rather deal with the people at the boro office than the caterer.
The Women’s club get the building. Don need to be concerned about any and all other Belmar residents or organizations. two thumbs up!
Matt’s shill is happy, and that is all that counts.
#41…Shill is my middle name! You’re right on target…I’m extremely happy…In fact my general outlook on life can be described as euphoric. You are a very perspective person. Hope my happy mood rubs off on you. I wear many hats…now I can don the shill cap!
The jerk gets off on the fawning.
2 showboars. One camera hog.
#44-While I’ve never taken on the persona of “shoboar,” I will certainly claim a showboat personality. A middle child always vying for attention…thus a showboat personality has evolved. Also, I proudly confirm that I wear a camera hog hat as well . Love the limelight! Thanks for your accurate assessment of my personality!
Mrs. Deicke- What are your thoughts on the Taylor Pavilion being booked up by Merri Makers so that no other Belmar groups or citizens can use it as originally intended? How do you feel about it being a wedding hall instead of a community building?
#46-As you know, The Belmar Woman’s Club has booked the pavilion on Fridays from September to June. I have the pavilion for our breast cancer support group on Sept. 13. We are doing a special “Mind and Body Balance ” program for women on that day. The summer camp activities are presently being held at the pavilion. Monday night concerts ( which I so enjoy ) are presently being held on Monday evenings now…from July through August . Dances are being held there on Tuesday evenings. Senior luncheons are being held at the pavilion. Kitchen cabinets are designated for different community groups. This coming Sunday St. Rose Church is holding a mass at the gazebo. If it rains we have been promised the Taylor Pavilion by borough officials. As I learn of other events/ activities to be held at our community center…The Taylor Pavilion..I’ll let you know via this blog.
If the showboars fit, wear it.
I hope the weather holds out for the mass on the 13th. Belmar can use all the blessings available. I guess the Bishop cannot make it. “This coming Sunday St. Rose Church is holding a mass at the gazebo.” (from #47)
#49-Yes….the Bishop is co-celebrating the mass. Thanks for your good wishes for the weather.
The new cohort is hosting the Mass celebrated by the Bishop.
Are attendees required to buy beach badges or will they use the “free” fenced in area of our beach.
The town is not requiring staff from Cruz Bay who are handing out menus and delivering orders to have badges. Yes, they are never going to need to be rescued by a lifeguard, but neither am I.
more lack of enforcement of Belmar’s Beachfront Ordinance-
“p. No person shall hawk, peddle, vend, sell, distribute, deliver or offer for sale any goods, wares, product samples or merchandise on any of the public beaches or beachfront of this Borough bordering upon the Atlantic Ocean or Shark River.”
Belmar is noting more than a Bazaar!
#54 – I smell a change to an ordinance.
#55 – Everything is For Sale?
