Correction

In the report below about Tuesday night’s agenda I incorrectly state that the court administrator is being replaced. We are in fact getting a new deputy administrator.

I apologize for the error.

the court is used by Belmar, Spring Lake and Lake Como … Apparently, Donkey Doherty underestimated administration costs with his shared service agreements

    btw-
a Spring Lake friend thinks the deal is wonderful … Spring Lake sends unwanted people to Belmar for court appearance.

This is required by law. The previous administration just ignored it

On another note, when the budget was looked at during a prior meeting, I remember someone asking why the Court budget went up and the CFO didn’t know, and she had to “look into it.” Apparently it is for this additional deputy court administrator. How did she not know that months ago when asked?

The deputy court administrator is not a new hire…one of the court clerks is being promoted. I worked in the court for years, and I can honestly say that it is the most understaffed department in the borough. They handle 3 courts with less than the staff required to handle 1. While I was there, the workload was so overwhelming, and I know the staff has gotten smaller since then, so I’m sure it’s much worse now. Their salaries have NEVER reflected the fact that they run 3 courts, and in fact they are the lowest paid department in comparison to other departments that service only Belmar.
