  5. Take Home Vehicle? wrote:

I never understood the idea of a take home vehicle for employees in a 1 square mile town. If they have to come to work during non working hours for some “emergency” they can quite simply pull into the borough building parking lot and jump in a borough vehicle. I cannot imagine that there are enough “emergencies” that they are called in for that would make paying all of that gas and mileage worth it. And I am sorry, the employees who live IN Belmar and have a take home vehicle? That’s just ridiculous.

I was only able to catch part of the Mayor and Council meeting so I played catch up last night. I feel so bad for Mayor & council and the professionals, no one wants to listen to their responses to questions most people commenting read from lists almost in a attack style, then talked over the people they asked questions without listening to the response to their own question.

To top it off they had to just listen to complaining and malcontent with apparently the planning board from the night before, like they do not get enough to deal with on their agenda for the night, they have to deal with the other boards agenda.

I decided after hearing so many people with the master plan I should read up and mayjbe take a glance back in history and development over Belmar in the last ten years. Ms. Renner brought up the fact she was vice chair of the planning board for 17 years or something like that and she was pretty insistent on how things should run and rules to be followed. So I thought maybe I could find some planning board minutes from the prior hearings that Ms. Renner was referring to when she was on the Board. I went to the Boroughs website, and search through archives of minutes, although I have not seen anything from when she was actually a planning board member I came across an interesting application and two hearings worth of minutes from 2014.

    file:///C:/Users/BillS/Downloads/planning_board_minutes_jan-may_2014.pdf

    Look at 4-29-2014

    file:///C:/Users/BillS/Downloads/june-dec2014pbmin%20(1).pdf

    then 6-16-2014

to sum it up, notwithstanding Ms. Renner’s statement on how strictly compliant to the Borough’s master plan things must be- an application was filed by her and her husband for their property on main street. And the application was submitted AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED, but they got caught. No proper setbacks and they did not even come to the Board with a landscaping plan, proper drainage reports, etc. You may recall Ms. Renner’s statement on how these things are a must with an application. The reason from the minutes was they were waiting for approvals before getting a landscape plan. Ms. Renner’s summary in the minutes is shocking compared to her remarks before mayor and council.

    Hypocrite.

I have only been in town for almost a decade. Certain people go around this town and loudly make affirmative statements and have their know-it-all type attitudes. Because they are typically not bashful they brag about how much they know.

Be careful, this post is to let you know you may want to do your own research and you may not be able to take the experienced elders in the Borough at their word, as they either have short term memory or want to live by the saying do as I say not as I do.

It’s always the ones with the dirty hands pointing the fingers.

I just viewed the part of the video where Kirschenbaum tries to justify how Huisman is better than sliced bread. He went to all these academies on the boroughs dime but couldn’t pass the chief of police test. His electrician certificate has been inactive since 1994.
He stole thousands up on thousands of dollars from the taxpayers on self serving overtime.
Thousands and thousands of dollars from the taxpayers by docking his boat in our marina for free.
So instead of indicting him let’s offer him a cushy supervisor position at DPW for 83k and give him a take home vehicle because he’s so vitally important.
I hope when this investigation is over. Huisman, Kirschenbaum, Campbell and Palmisano are all in jail. .

Hi #6, I listened to the Planning Board meeting because of an application on Main Street. The first application was about the church . I do not think I’m better than anyone else in town and feel I served my community as vice chairman as best as I could. You see dedicating myself for 20 years gets you nothing in the end . I didn’t ask for a job with the town , I didn’t make any money for any committee I ever served . All Billy and I got was aggravations and different treatment then anyone else. I am happy you brought up the building on Main Street as we had 9 lawsuits against us , sold a house we owned not to go bankrupt and still my husband worked and built a beautiful building basically by himself right after hurricane Sandy hit. We were harassed to take a 100 year old tree down for no reason by the shade tree commission and we were the only ones asked to go before the Planning Board . When we got there they didn’t understand why we were there. We had to put a full drainage system in ground, we weren’t allowed pavers although the ordinance said we could. Still we didn’t sue the town because we just didn’t think it was right and we just kept working and moving forward. We never got a tax brake for being in a special zone created by anyone so we could not pay taxes for years to come in fact the opposite.look up and down Main Street and you will see how many places never had to go before the boards . I finally got an answer from our town attorney saying under his interpretation if it’s a confirming use you shouldn’t have to go before any board. I only asked questions that night because I still can’t believe what was done to us and am curious how the in crowd and the smart people get things so easy. For your information who ever you are I was not against the project but now intimidation is the in thing to do to anyone that asks a question. So the peons will stay quiet and be afraid to ask anything from the high and mighty as you must be one of them . You are one of the reasons I lost my enthusiasm to partake in anything anymore. Which I’m sure by the sound of your comments you must be over the moon. I know what I stand for ,what I believe and where my heart always was in doing my best in anything I volunteered for. Doug Kovats and Christine Bell did an excellent job of presenting the thoughts that were in my mind and yet you didn’t scold them or investigate the last 20 years of their life. I conclude that I must be a threat to some men that don’t like the little woman asking questions. I should stay home and bake cookies and keep my place. I noticed their isn’t 1 woman on the board. That in itself speaks columns. You too hid behind an anonymous name. Be a man and show yourself or do I pose a threat to you too? My only reason for bringing it up to a town meeting is because Belmar is changing and some people don’t like some of the big decisions and deals that have been made. All I tried to ask if the Mayor and council like the way we have been moving . I didn’t expect some members not to even know what decisions had been made the night before. The master plan is extensive and as a town it’s would be nice to know how we see ourselves in 5 10 or 40 years from now . I don’t think that’s asking a lot just having an open dialogue with residents in a small community . But obviously I touched a nerve in you that you felt to lash out to make sure anyone with a thought other than you shall be silenced. Good luck Billy has been trying to silence me for 40 years. In the old days! After town meetings the poor guy would be on the beach fishing around 5 am and someone would show up and tell him he better silence his wife. And he would always say I can’t stop her she does what she does because she’s her own person. I really enjoyed trying to make things better.Mostly after the other night and certainly now after your comment I find myself defeated. You win! It makes me sad I thought I had so much to offer so many ideas I thought were good but I just didn’t play the game with the good ol boys . I often think how much easier our life in Belmar would have been if I just stayed quiet all these years, but then I think about how many people we helped. Oh well I guess I need to put my energy and heart elsewhere where it is respected and will flourish instead of being poisoned by people like you. I hear Karma is a bitch ,do me a favor and call me when she shows up!

#17- pointing out truth based upon documents presented to the Board that demonstrates how people say one thing and do the other. Not made up or unsupported information- all factual.

There should be a fair playing field if you getup and claim there should not be any need to build or do anything not in line with the master plan, but you in fact have made an application for such a deviation? And went about your renovation made the error and then went to the board? Yeah it was about pavers, but also much more with regard to setbacks and coverage? And in the testimony if you wanted to look at it you could see they said they knew nothing of outdoor dining and thats not why it was being made, and then the objectors attorney pulled out the submitted outdoor dining application executed by the tenant and landlord.

Its unfortunate to see alot of empty buildings on main street and struggling businesses and this is pre-covid.

Whether you guys on here like it or not or think it is disrespectful, the fact of the matter is you do not like what I have to say because you guys are your own group that like to criticize different thins and also call out others.

Ironically, if my views were different and I agreed with you people you would probably encourage my posts and investigation. The fact is they do not support your end game, and because the facts are true and supported and I took the time to research and point it out, you have nothign to say but how dare you, your so disrespectful.

But consider this for a second, would you rather be a person that posts under a pen name true accurate documented facts, supported or a person that publishes their own name with comments that are not accurate.

Ill keep my pen name, Ill keep pointing out the truths and hypocrisies when I find them, because thats what people need to formulate an educated opinion. Not half truths or misstatements. if you do not want to be called out for being a hypocrite, very simple do not be one.

sounds like some people are just getting way to bitter around here. but as a homeowner in Belmar and taxpayer I wish people could really start to be open minded and peaceful, reasonable and accountable, the craziness that is going on and constant hate is getting us no where. Volunteering is great and no one is saying it is not, but gathering a group of people with pitch forks to complain and be nasty about everything, is not volunteering just because you are unpaid. Did you every think to take a step back, deep breath and say—- hmmmm what can I change in my delivery, presentation of suggestions and even objections? It may be as simple as being calmer in delivery, more distinctive in your objection and a possible realistic solution to same.

To your other point – financially between Sandy in 2012 – bridge being down – that hurt us at 507 Main and in many ways the BH – do we owe people money – we do and don’t slight that responsibility –

Salt would have been a major step toward getting everything back on track – the town denied our moving the license to an approved site for an approved use – it was the chance we waited years for – And we sunk a lot of money into that chance that we were never granted

If we owe u something – feel free to email me And happy to discuss or at least sign ur name to a post on a blog –

Instead of taking a cheap shot of us for being irresponsible after being in town for over 20 years or at least provide proof of us being irresponsible or a shitshow of partying
