Wow. One hell of a way to end a meeting. I guess arrogancy is one of the pre-requisites for the Office of the Mayor of Belmar. Picked up right where Matt left off. Please vote these people out. #byebyetommie

Why does St. Rose’s traffic issue fall on backs of Belmar Tax payers? The chief’s response to St Rose should be to cough up some money for cops to direct traffic each day. That’s what my church has to do to the local municipality on Sunday to assist with people safely exiting the parking lot into municipal streets. (It’s not cheap either). Also, the entire meeting we hear about how there is no money for pickle ball court for our seniors but yet we have let St Rose use the municipal gym for free for how long? Time to send the priest a bill from the Belmar taxpayers. Quite frankly I don’t know how that type of “donation” from the town is even allowed. They have a nice empty lot on Main Street. Build a gym!

When I was a boy, traffic “cops” around a school (there were no crossing guards for HS) were the children and I lived in Brooklyn which as everyone knows is a city. Let the HSers be crossing guards for the grade school children. If they can’t do a simple job like that when they’re Juniors or Seniors in HS, why are their parents wasting money even feeding them for?
We certainly have one arrogant mayor on our hands. And, Mr. Kirschenbaum sure danced around Mr. Buccafusco’s pointed and well researched questions – and never gave a straight answer. Is Huisman a “temporary” full-time or “temporary” part-time employee? He appears to be making a full-time (generous) salary at this time. That discrepancy was never addressed – even when asked several times. Why was our council not involved in that questionable hiring? Was it actually legal? Seems even Dasti can’t answer that. Come on council members! Speak up!
If you can’t, understandably, sit through watching the whole council meeting, PLEASE watch the last 11 minutes! Start at 1:04:00 and see what you think. I’d be interested in hearing the opinions and thoughts of my fellow residents.
#5 They can’t give an answer because they have been caught giving a job to Huisman without going through the proper channels. No rules are being followed, it’s the good ole boys club!
They do what they want and how dare the residents ask them questions about it? Shame on us! We are all just stupid and they don’t need to answer Gerry’s questions.
At 1:04:00 the above average BS started. Within 9 months we’ll have it figured out? If it was the council’s and mayor’s money they would have had it figured out in below average time. There needs to be an above average draining of this swamp!!
Beware! Scary Gerry can READ. Those in power must assume the common folks cannot. Dueling attorneys, let the fun begin! And some thought the Zoning Board theatrics were entertaining (Brodsky and Shipers).

Why would they call for an investigation? It would only reveal what they’re trying so hard to keep from coming out. Cowards.
Way to go Jerry! Thanks for asking all the right questions. They tried to slip this position in and they got caught. Just like they got caught stealing boat slips in our marina. I don’t understand why Walsifer just doesn’t tell Huisman to go away. Who needs this aggravation. I guess he listens to Kirschendumb which will eventually be his downfall and cost him re election.
Raise taxes TWENTY PERCENT in two years and then make up jobs for your goombas. I don’t think so. #voteforgerry. He won’t stand for this crap.
When Walsifer was going door to door campaigning for mayor he said he was going to get rid of Connolly, Campbell and Huisman. Connolly is gone, Campbell is more obnoxious than ever and Huisman gets to retire with a six figure pension and an 83 thousand made up job! I guess one out three ain’t bad. Liars!
Wow. #5. That is worth the watch. Everything that is wrong with politics. Really can’t believe every council person is going along with this. Haven’t they learned anything from the Salt case ? Kinda funny Drew is at the center of it again. So sad for Belmar
It’s very clear we need new representation on the Council….and not just simply new representation, we need a smart, solid, practical, intelligent person…and that person is Jerry Buccafusco. But please just don’t vote for Gerry, you need to tell ALL your Belmar friends and neighbors to vote for Jerry Buccafusco!!! Let’s make it happen, for without us spreading the word to all we know, it will be difficult to defeat the incumbent. Vote for Jerry Buccafusco!!!
Why is it that Huisman gets to take a truck home every night that doesn’t even say belmar public works on it? None of us temporary workers get to. Is it in case a lightbulb burns out in the middle of the night. Oh that right, he doesn’t have a electric license
I watched this performance and i⊥ seemed if Mr. Buccafusco asked some per⊥inant question and ⊥hey seemed to be flustered and answered with all sorts of doubletalk. But that’s all you saw, a bunch of baloney. If elected, Mr. Buccafusco will sit there and say nothing while this gang of nincompoops goes on it’s merry way and keeps sacking this town. Mr. Buccafusco is just another guy who made his living yaking away. He’s a completely inexperience man. Your best bet is to not vote for any of these people.

#18. I respectively disagree . If we the people of Belmar don’t give this new guy a chance then we will have below average chance of getting sanity into Belmar. The average voter must make a stand here and now. If not it’s over. Hello average people vote for the new guy. It’s hope for the future.
#17 The reason Huisman gets to take a truck home is because Campbell allows it, Walsifer allows it.
The reason DPW trucks aren’t lettered is because now the DPW workers can move Campbell’s furniture undetected.
Free use of truck and free gas. Pretty nice perk for part-timer.
#21 A part-timer pulling in more than $83,000! Incredulous! How does the council see nothing wrong with this? Not a peep from one of them!
#19- Joe, you are absolutely correct, Tom is wrong again. NOT VOTING is a vote for the person you do not want in office. And we all know Brennan, the last of the Matt regime, needs to go. Let these other people know the struggling taxpayers of Belmar will not tolerate a council person sitting up there muted. We will not sit idly by as this new Mayor destroys this town on the backs of us fixed income people treating his friends to luxury.
What if a person is in a relationship with a high up in the Belmar PD?

When you look at slot of what’s wrong in this town, giving free boat slips away at residents expense, having town workers move his furniture with town equipment, hiring Huisman, take home vehicle, etc, etc, etc.
the common denominator is Campbell. His arrogance is nauseating. Why he is given an ounce of credibility is beyond me. Mayor, do what you promised during your campaign and get rid of the root of the problem and things may come easier for you.

I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous when they first got elected. I know you were all appalled at my last years salary so i really wanted to sock it to you this year. My $224,328.03 salary, not including a new vehicle and other perks, is my parting shot to all of you. I want you to know I purposely failed the Chiefs test, (whaddya think I’m stupid or sumthin) so I could continue to rob the borough of all my self serving overtime. As far as the other members of my department making astronomical salaries, so what, who cares! I don’t have to pay for it, you do! Ha Ha Ha!
Well enough for now, I have a plane to catch to Hawaii. I’m looking to purchase some land. If you ever need me to come back in the future to rob the taxpayers money in any way, please let me know. Aloha!
