Damn ! Now I Have No Plans For That Night.

Seriously though, there are four ordinances awaiting action for the August 15 meeting.  I would think that if they are important enough to go through the effort and expense to create, they are important enough to come to a meeting and pass.  You know I have things to do too but I come to the meetings.  And it’s not even my job.

Take the beach tent ban for example.  We are told that the tents are dangerous.  They block the lifeguards’ view.  They can fly across the sand on windy days.  If this is true, well there are still two weeks between August 15 and Labor Day.  What if something happens in those two weeks?

BTW, the people with canopies don’t bother me so much as the people that put tents with sides right near the water.  I think it’s very rude and really intolerable for parents who need to watch their young children.

BTW, BTW, why is it that when Avon banned tents last year there was not a peep out of the media about it (I went back and checked) but when Belmar does it it’s all over the news with the Mayor being interviewed on television and everything?

BTW, BTW, BTW, I’m back this morning from my business trip.  The best part of it was the little green frog.

Because Avon does not have a media machine behind their every move sending out press releases. Or could it be leakers?

Who is authorized to make this decision and why isn’t anyone on that council speaking up and demanding that the people’s business be performed in public as prescribed by law and as scheduled, by law?

Belmar tourism posted the article on Facebook about the coming ban!

Why did they do that? To alert the media

There may be a change about the use of tents and canopies on the Belmar beach. A public hearing on the ordinance, followed by a final vote, will be conducted at the borough council’s August 15 meeting, to be held at 6 p.m. in the Belmar Municipal Building, 601 Main Street.

Wish they would ban aerosol sunscreen lotion. I found myself eating lotion and breathing it.It’s disgusting. Does not help those with asthma.last week after a dose of continuous spray on multiple children a mom pulled out a container of powder to get sand off her feet. She smoked out the remaining beach goers . I guess she didn’t know we provide showers to rinse everyones feet. Oh ! throw in the new small speakers that attached to a mans chair so we could all enjoy HIS choice of music. I had to leave .what happened to relaxing in the sun ,listening to the ocean waves, and enjoying the smell of the natural beach air?

Then we would be like Spring Lake. People would leave coolers on the boardwalk and when it came time to eat, they would do it on the boardwalk!

#23 – Do you know if there is a mobi-mat placed at the bottom of the ramp from the boardwalk that goes to the tented area? I noticed two mats are being used at the bottom of the stairs headed up to the Merri Makers restaurant. What’s that about? The main location for buying badges is in the pavilion and there are bathrooms there, but no mobi-mat??
