Several months ago at a Mayor and Council meeting, someone asked the mayor what was going on with the Buy a Board money, and he stated that those funds would be used to pay for the Taylor Pavilion. He clearly has no intention to comply with the Gummer decision.
Someone alert Gummer. Would love to see him dragged back to court for failure to comply – maybe they should have concentrated on public safety first instead of the over priced club house
He doesn’t seem to care about contracts, law, rulings, etc. Very few people call him out on anything, or hold him accountable for anything. His own council sits there and allows him to call all the shots without ever disagreeing with him or asking questions. Why does he have this attitude? Maybe more people should go to the council meetings and start asking the tough questions.
How could one find out if Ken Pringle has been paid for his services in the Gummer matter? If not paid, he is being done a huge disservice and insult by an administration that seems to be trying to weasel out of their obligations. Mr. Walsifer, I believe that you have access to this information.
#8 If enough people goad and bug him, he may wake up, or am I too optimistic? Maybe he is waiting quietly and will strike like a rattler later. But then going along to get along is easier.
Time to start looking into alternative forms of borough government again. This “strong mayor” form is just to rife for political favoritism, which I’m sure was not the intent with our last change some 25+ years ago. Maybe a change would be good and an easy way to clean the slate of the current bobbleheads.
#10. Not so sure move to strong mayor form spearheaded by K. Pringle was not intentional. I do know that the form was suddenly changed prior to the special election and was not what was presented based on the study group. The only Republican on that task force still lives in Belmar. You should contact him, Michael Suptko. There are only a few municipal governments out of 565 in NJ where the “mayor is a councilman” and can vote per Belmar ordinance. I have a mailing list of 1100 registered Belmar voters who would support the change should you be serious.
The form of Government Belmar has is only as good as the ethics of the Mayor and Council. Here we have a Mayor that represents the Bar and Restaurant owners, NOT the residents! We must all vote Mr. Brennan out of office and the rest of the gang. Republicans, Libertarians, and Independents its time for you to step up and show how to run an honest, trustworthy Mayor and Council.
#13. Yeh! vote out Brennan and elect another version of Brennan. That makes sense. The local house flipper shows no interest and once again sleep walks through another election.
At least the house flipper running for office has real lifetime business experience, is a real family man with two children, who has a REAL job and doesn’t have to suck the life out of the public tit.
#18. Not yet that is. My read is he would like to be and thus be easily coerced. If he seriously wishes to represent the people of Belmar, he should disclose his views an at a minimum ask for our votes. I’m waiting ( second time).

Buy a wedding hall, not buy a boardwalk.
The mayor is just smug and defiant. Get over it already.

I’m sending this information to Judge Gummer c/o the bar association and the Judicial Committee.

I agree, we need a change of format.

The house flipper does not want the position, that’s my opinion.Wake up Mr. Walsifer.
14 – The Republican candidates heart appears to be in Asbury Park anyway.

This Josh isn’t beholden to anyone!
# 18 – Well said sir.
#18 – Josh, is that you? Welcome to back to Belmar.

How about a Josh-sponsored “town meeting”?
How about door to door one on one vs the Belmar dog and pony show with no accountability from the mayor and council.
