Tonight’s Borough Council Meeting Cancelled
The reason: It’s summer. (I guess they didn’t know summer would happen when they passed this resolution on Dec 29, 2014.)
You know, I think they would prefer not to have any meetings with the public at all. As it is, citizens are limited to a single five minute appearance and their questions won’t be answered.

Without this blog I would not know anything that is going on in this town as it relates to its official business. I would only know the sugar coated details published in the newspapers (which seem to only give one side of the story). Thanks Admin!!!
Ask them no questions, they tell you no lies. Information is readily available in every gin joint in town or go to Jersey City for some crumbs. Yes, Junior, I am the man, Matteo
Guess I can go to bed early tonight?
Here’s what should happen. Take what each council member and the mayor are paid… Divide that amount by the total number of scheduled council meetings to come up with a pay per meeting value. They should not get paid for every meeting they cancel or do not attend. By the way, how is it the town has no business to take care of ?
The pay is only like 2000/yr for councilmen and 5000/yr for the mayor. Plus they do more than attend meetings. But we have a right to those meetings and to know what town business is transpiring and to participate in the public session. The public should be each allowed two visits to the mike at the next meeting, or ten minutes at the mike.
Also, very often the meeting after a cancelled meeting ends up being very long and folks go home before the public session.
J. Strom Thurmond held the Senate record for filibustering.
Must rally troops for the next meeting. Bring popcorn, alert the media and call some techy friends to bring cameras, video cameras and a laugh machine to let rip at any moment something ridiculous is said.
Are banners allowed inside of or outside the building?
How about some impeach Doherty t-shirts?
And send in your letters to the media demanding a reasonable priced pavilion.
