Your message is unclear. Are you implicating that truckers are not capable of making campaign donations? Or are you stereotyping that republicans are not blue collar? As a female, bisexual, republican, owner operator truck driver I want to know….Thank God I don’t live in Belmar with all of this bigotry.
I’m not saying anything of the kind. I was just seeing if the enforcement of Borough code might have been influenced by a generous campaign donation. The result of my inquiry was not what I might have anticipated but I’m sharing it with all of you anyway.
A possible version of pay to play, the way things work in this borough. Like the illegal helicopter landing a year or two ago.

Yes very interesting, I can’t believe I missed the connection. It’s plausible the corrupt system of Belmar may have used the helicopter that was illegally landed to illegally place the rv that may or may not be illegally parked in a back yard.
If many Belmar residents are clueless about the shenanigans around here, how can a non-resident be expected to make connections about matters that have been in the news. The pitbull ate the helicopter and peed on the rv. Jeesh.

Same here, admin. You never know who is out there reading…and making assumptions. I have not noticed any bigotry, but then, perception is everything.

Hmmm (#13) Upon searching “Belmar Lifeguard” this site was in the results. At the present time, “doesn’t fit the narrative” was the headline blog. That is why this article is the first one I saw and not the one regarding the lifegaurds. If it helps clear things up, my address is XXXX Washington ave #XX, Asbury Park.

The connection I can’t seem to make is the leap from this awful dog attack to the owner of this blog trying to attack the Gannon’s for separate issues (i.e., the truck and some 500 campaign contribution made 8 years ago. Do I have that right?). They most certainly did not manage their dogs appropriately and their negligence resulted in a terrible tragedy. However, it’s not anyone’s right to (what looks like) trespass on their property and look for other things to attack them on. Stick to the issues and let the legal system do it’s job and let’s pray for that poor woman that she gets the justice she and her dog deserve.
First of all it is obvious from the original photo that I was standing in the street. So nobody trespassed.
Now there do seem to be some occurrences in Belmar where friends of the mayor seem to be permitted to do certain things that are in violation of Borough code and that others might not ever be permitted to do. Some examples might be building a swimming pool on a lot with no house, or soliciting food orders on the beach, or maybe landing a helicopter in a public park. And parking a truck tractor on a residential property is a violation.
Naturally I going to see if this guy is a campaign contributor. This is why hundreds of people read these pages. And when I discovered that the guy had actually donated to Doherty’s opponents in 2010 I could have just ignored it because it “didn’t fit the narrative”. But I published it without hesitation because the truth is what it is. That’s why people trust what they read here.
Why isn’t this guy afforded the opportunity to park his dump truck in the DPW waste yard. Or in one of the public parking spots near railroad tracks behind borough hall. These are 2 common sites where commercial vehicles are parked (whether allowable or not). And while I am on the topic of the DPW waste yard – there is so much crap being stored there that has no business being stored on town property. What a bunch of pack rats. Piles of lounge chairs, rusty old trailers. Pipes that look like they haven’t been touched this century, military and Commercial vehicles, Boats (not sure why that is there). If they cleaned up the yard a bit, they would have space and not have to use Dempsey.
They could pay Reggie Hyde?
There’s a power wash company truck parked over in that vicinity there regularly. Am eyesore for sure.

So, who is going to be the next mayor to end favoritism around town? Magovern the blustery know-nothing? Why does the Silver Lake park have two monuments to his wife? A relation of his is affiliated with the company that supplied the playground equipment, as I recall. That is no conspiracy theory.
Actually his son in law owns the company but it is one of only 2 playground equipment companies on the state vendor list.
