Belmar changed an ordinance so that he could build a pool before building a house on his property in town. He also built a large house that I believe needed variances. My friend in that neighborhood tried to speak against the size of the project. He had Shipers represent him and got everything he wanted.
Belmar’s Zoning Board is composed of many drones counselled by an attorney who is too friendly with a certain other attorney, in my opinion. Want a variance, no problem… Favors for the connected and loudest mouth.
I would be pleased to see Mr. Doherty led off in handcuffs doing the perpwalk for the media to document. Will it happen some glorious day? Well, Senator Menendez was re-elected, so, who knows.
It was Ordinance 2014-16, and amended our zoning ordinances to permit an in-ground swimming pool to be constructed on a lot before the principal building. I spoke at the meeting and asked them what property this was for? It made no sense that they would have come up with this out of the blue. Both Doherty and Connolly denied that it was for any specific property, which was obviously one of their countless lies.
A year later, right before work started on his pool fronting on D Street (on a lot with no principal building) Frank Raia made a $1,000 campaign contribution to Belmar Councilwoman Jennifer Nicolay.
Makes me wonder about the mail-in ballots when Brennan ordered a recount and won by one (or two) votes. How did he know that three mail-in votes were not counted. Who handled the mail-in ballot collection for hand delivery for the senior building that election?
Ladies & Gentlemen, As a believer in double standards, I’d like Mrs Nicolay to be exempted from vitriol because of her status as a wife and a mother. I have no problem however with tearing matt, brian and tom to pieces because of their status as men.
How on earth do any of them sleep at night? Jen acts like a pious goody two shoes, Brian acts like the morality police, Tom acts like, well, like a clueless moron, and Matt just cruises through life. Where the hell is karma??

5 years in federal prison would fix this guy!
No shock here.

Nicolay sold her soul for a measly $1000 bucks! Jeeze she has no respect for herself.
I doubt she even knew who he was. This is all Matt.
11 … Then she sold her soul to Matt.
Agreed
The trail is so convoluted and corrupt makes you want vomit. That jerk beats his chest like he thinks he’s Tarzan of belbar!

#15- Wrong again TOM. Women are to be treated the same as men, Isn’t that what they want and keep fighting for. Wife/mother or not.
Just because people fight for something doesn’t mean they should get it.
