Just about every member is a Doherty disciple. Belmar no longer have a beautiful marina. We now have a giant bar that has boat docking. So sad the voters let them give away the towns assets so Doherty could move up the political ladder.
since Joseph Vrola was present twice did he get two votes?
Tom>>> Keep avoiding the crazy drivers. What do you know? You never walk around town. Jim Bean is correct. All we have now is a gigantic bar that attracts the drunks.
I hope they are addressing why route 35 is a 4 lane road with no shoulder through the entirely residential area between K street and Oakwood. When other areas of 35 in completely commercial districts such as in Neptune and Wall are only 1 lane in each direction with an appropriately sized shoulder. It’s a danger to pedestrians, bicyclists and residents in those areas.
Very interesting for the City Planners. Should dismantling of that dangerous mino golf and beach spoils berm be on the STNJ DOT’s agendas to make a bicycle /walkway available to pedestrian/cyclists. Transportation costs as well as costs of fuels, health care etc could be improved with bike/pedestrian lanes. Maybe fix flooding too.
#7 – Good points. A few years ago I attended a “pedestrian safety” meeting and this was discussed. The idea they came up with was to put a median in the center of the roadway. What that ha;s to do with safety for the pedestrians I don’t know. But then I understood it had nothing to do with safety. It had only to do with getting another crony a contract to install the median (they were unhappy I figured that out and were denying it vehemently as I was walking out the door). Luckily, that went nowhere at the time but it may be resurrekted now. When I walk that route, I walk on the marina side and along the grass after Macleary Park (going either way) with the guardrail up to Belmar Blvd.
Right Tom. The crookedness of NJ Politics. Like painting hundreds of bicycle warnings on Rt 35 thru Bay Head to the Brick line. Or putting in miles and miles of guard rail in the 200 ft. wide median of Rt. 18 thru all of Monmouth County. Contracts to line the pockets of political hacks on your dime. And with McMurphy will only get worse.
As to my last post. Don’t walk that way (at the guardrail) in the summur unless you spray your pants against ticks. The high grass is alive with ticks during the summah.

Obvyously, there can be no input from me on such a subject.

Mr. D is so wise about the ticks in Belmar grasses. There a real infestation at the marina and our lakes!
Beware!
don’t walk where the deer walk
