A reader alerted me that Belmar has acquired eight of these portable military buildings. There are five at the Dempsey Park parking lot, two at Public Works and one at the marina. .
They each have two rooms with a two way mirror between them.
Look at all that junk.
The doorknobs lock from the inside with a keyhole on the outside. There is a sliding bolt on the outside but it’s just screwed into wood.
The person who alerted me to these theorized that the military used them as interrogation rooms or something. I guess you could change the locks to convert them into holding rooms if you wanted to.
Anyone have any idea why we own these things?
BTW the parking lot at Dempsey is still looking a little dumpy.

Put a little hay on the floor, drop in a water bowl, you’ll have a small makeshift barn. More goats on the way. Now we have room for chickens and pigs too !
And we can spy on them and see what they do when they think nobody is watching them!
they are military skid-mount confessionals.
Put a picture up of all that dumb military junk sitting in the parking lot and under the water tower. What’s that about? All these towns have this stuff, but it seems we have far more than the other towns.
Maybe we can get scrap value?
Is that the room Mike and Colleen intimidated Druz in?
I wonder if while they were there if they happened to notice the military vehicle with the flat tires.
I am told that when you turn the vehicle on they self inflate. Not so with the Ford pickup in the last pic though.
LOL “Reconditioned Belmar Voting Booths”!
The two way mirror will come in handy.
Comfortable BElMAR Voting booth for non-residents. My morning pick me up, thanks
Here is the number to call; N.J. DEP enforcements.
You will need the specifics:
Block 137, Lot 2, 16th Ave., Belmar
Funded Green Acre Parkland
Presently Borough notified of violations in 2014 did not address them and now this.
On a separate and maybe related topic, Belmar’s Lease with Chef’s includes storage at DPW.
where’s the #?
They are obviously to house the element in town that is in opposition to Matt’s plans.

They should have CW and the other laborers clean up that mess instead of having them ride the little garbage scooter around town all day.
Now they can interrogate 8 people at once. That is wonderful. You got keefe and druz. I wonder who else. Maybe mike and colleen will practice with each other with the two way mirror. I would just like to know what exactly is the purpose of these trailers.
May I suggest that we put the mayor and council in them, so that they can get a good look at themselves. Then we padlock the units.
I would think that they were free with the government surplus. The two way mirrored wall can be taken down or replaced and it can be used for storage. Better than looking at piles of scrap & tools.
#19. Free Storage for Chef’s International per the Lease our great dealmaker made :Paragraph 2. section iii. So much for the art of the deal. You might want to have these storage units on your property. WE the people want the parks for us. Good Day.
Hey Guys and Girls forget the mess at DPW. Has anyone took a look at the water tower, besides needing a paint job is that rust stains i see up there???
#21 I don’t think that is rust. I am pretty sure it is mold.
Portable bicycle parking garages to move to the marina and other places where folks can walk to and from restaurants and bars.
21 and 22 – We are glad others are noticing it. It, along with Dempsey Park and most of the town at this point, is an abomination. What this administration has let happen to Dempsey Park and Pyanoe Plaza is a slap in the face to the families of the fine men for whom they are named. We who purchased plaques for the benches at Pyanoe Plaza to honor our loved ones would like to know if the town is going to replace those that have been so thoughtlessly removed.
#20 – I’ve complained about a lot of things that disrupt the view from my home and nothing has been done about it. The question was if anyone knew why we (the town) own these things. My guess is that they were free for the taking so why not?
Speaking of water towers, what about the one on twelfth ave? They put a new roof on it over 4 years ago and they still don’t have the money to paint it. Every piece of borough property looks like a dump-bad curbs and sidewalks, trash laying around, overgrown weeds, broken fences, no organization of tools and equipment. They are doing the curbs up on the ocean front and don’t clean up after themselves-dirt everywhere, very sloppy and unprofessional! There is a huge lack of pride in workmanship. By the way, the downtown is not thriving, we have a few nice new buildings which Matt had nothing to do with, but downtown is far from thriving!
Do you think those little buildings might turn into small extra bathrooms?
Do you think Chefs gets the bys in Point that they get in Belmar?
