Seems like more public officials believe they can get elected and then become mute in public. It was quite bizarre when Mayor Doherty instituted this same policy last year, although he seemed to have relaxed his self imposed silence around the time of the last election.

What is the point of allowing the public in if they cannot get answers to questions?

More people should attend the council meetings. Fun to see who can ask the most “creative” question.
