Looks like these folks tried to self-lawyer their side of the dragged out process and have now lost an entire summer season while being on the hook for the rent from July forward.

#7 – From the emails it looks like these people had difficulty getting face-to-face access to the Business Administrator. Maybe MerriMakers had some better access? Maybe some form of Backdoor access?
Brandl will probably wind up in the 10th Ave spot.
#8…. the building is posted “Unsafe” by Belmar Code Enforcement.
Looks like a kitchen ventilation fan would block some of the view in the infamous lifeguard tower. It probably would have to protrude quite high to avoid downdraft of cooking odors and grease onto the lifeguards standing outside on the towers deck. This all stinks of another rushed-up poor design. Congrats Belmar!

11 …. Sure looks like something is up. Maybe if the Mayor would have come clean and spoken up about the delay, instead of his bewildered lol and smug answer that the building was open. Was there a 2nd or 3rd bidder who lost out to these people?

Shame to see 10th Ave. Freeze Out treated this way. They must have not played ball to get this treatment.
Ask anyone who works as a lifeguard n the building is a hack job. Terrible design. No storage. No input listened to. Design of kitchen a mess. Exhaust fan not properly located. Had a real chance of building something that functionally worked for all parties and the end result is an embarrassment. One of the larger lifeguard staffs in the county. No space for training. Meeting. Breaks. Just a chopped up small office and a crows nest of a tower that might fit a desk. Real shame.

Trent and Hillary are really good family people and have been operating in Belmar for a long time. I really hope they are able to persevere and open soon. No reason they should be treated this way. I bet emails from Marina grill are answered right away.
Isn’t it ironic that the teamsters just gave the Mayor an award, like he is for the working guy. Yet this happens to a “mom and pop” shop.
21. They can always use Taylor building if the life guards need a larger space for their training and store equipment underneath or maybe the church on eight. There is always a solution
They should have used union labor for the ice cream store, then no problems,capiche.
Ice cream machines and refrigerators don’t require kitchen exhaust …. seems the Borough didn’t anticipate the winning bidder’s use of the space.
The OPRA route is the one and only way to find out anything including RICO statutes violations that engross anyone’s time and employment in the Belmar maze.

MerriMakers opened quite quickly. I wonder why the Borough Administrator was so late and lazy in her responses to the Freeze Out people?

So their should be a revenue share to the beach utility fund for the private use of the sand beach restaurant operation beyond the lease agreement for 5th Avenue Pavilion? Talk about spreading, worse than Djais unregulated expansion.
