Element luminary Bill Straus sent me a selfie from his hotel refuge in Port Charlotte:

Glad to see everything is going OK, Bill.

 

On a serious note, I’ve been checking his Facebook and he hasn’t posted since the storm hit.  Hoping he can get back on line soon and that he and Ted are safe.

    NO DAMAGE WIND/FLOODING. Not so for so many other Floridians. Port Charlotte saved. We got power late last night.In 2006 Port Charlotte was landfall for another Category 4 Hurricane Charley ( due to unexpected last minute turn. No power over 3 weeks, 75% all buildings were heavily damaged. Fast forward, Irma, took a last minute turn inland.
