Any Realtors interested in renting to Belmar while the current Borough Hall / PD/Gym is reconstructed?
Make a A Deal.

What would the tax rateble income to Belmar be for 200 residential condos built without any tax losing PILOT redevelopment program or Make a Deal Money schemes?
With the savings earned from reconstructing the current borough complex vs the actual tax increase proposal paid be enough to offset a 3 million dollar tab for reconstruction of a State of the Art Sea Shore Borough Complex?
Has the mayor, council and administer gotten out the chisel and engraved this on the rock of Belmar’s future debt already?

We are all old enough to know nothing is free in life. You pay one way or the other.
How does one get a whole 1.3mi.town in
trouble (debt)like we are?Spend someone
else’s money? Who pays the tuition for
the kids joining our school system? US?
Sure we are dumb enough to do it. It is truly time to get someone in this town
to look at what is going on. How do you build mega million dollar buildings and
pay no taxes. Where do we get the land
for people to park their cars? Gone are
the days of 1 car families. If this town cares they will get together and do something and find out what is going on. We truly need help before we go under.

When Brian McGovern and the other council members were so happy to push this along,did they realize that part of the plan was on property that other people own? #21 Looks like it. As I understand, the project will include the whole area between 6th and 7th Avenues, from Main Street to River Road. The “Elks” house on 7th is to be negotiated, as it is in the way. Goodbye dentist office, laundry, Chinese restaurant, salon.
If this happens it will be after a long costly court battle with the owners of the other properties.
Like I keep saying, inexperienced people are far worse than bad people. Bad people like these “developers” can smell a dope a mile away (3/4s of our town council and Matt – I mean that only in the best way of course). They know that the inexperienced person can easily be taken advantaged of. That’s why with Matt, the two bookends, aka, “teachurs” and the nice lady, these characters have our town in a strangle hold. (obviously, when Matt leaves they’ll put another person just like themselves on the council).

There is another dimension as well – the voters. People tend to vote for people they think are like themselves. So, it’s pretty apparent, this cabal we see on the dais are representative of a large group/majority of voters in our town. That segment don’t want successful people like Jim, Dave, or Mike to represent the town.
