Sickening how this is shoved into the faces of the Belmar residents.

Makes it sound like Merry Fakers owns the building and not the residents of Belmar. What do you think Josh and Mark? Is this a good thing?
Enough!If you have lived here all your life or just a few years, its easy to see that this monster is ruining our town. Show up to meetings, write editorials, talk to your neighbor. It starts with Josh, get him in and then one more next year. I have laid silent for years. I have seen enough. Josh, you need to walk door to door and get the votes. I would suggest going twice! Its a tough job and I have a lot of respect for you throwing your name out there.
Merri-Makers forgot to mention the availability of ‘Helicopter Transportation’
Won’t this offset some of the spending done by Belmar? Would we really want to get in the way of love and depriving two people of the bonds of holy matrimony?
#2 – No, by the mayor and his cronies.
#4. Bill and what about the Mayor race next year? Would it not be wise to begin NOW. Even when there was a pro-active Belmar Republican Committee, the hard work needed to win always started mid September. Insanity being doing the same thing each year and thinking you can stop the machine.
#4. Bill, if you’ve had enough then you and others could help with the critical missing resources and logistics:
1. Unlike the Dems who have the state of the arts smart phone campaign apps ( I watch them every year on my street). Going back to Richard Wright Republicans do not have current and workable walking list.
2. Most candidates do not get list from Freehold of all newly registered voters by district in Belmar. Both of these critical for intelligent/targeted pre-election day campaigning. ie advantage Democrat.
3. If you had been involved in any of the campaigns these past 7 years, you would know that Republicans have yet to create a list of current voter phone numbers. This critical resource which needs months to create and the Dems make sure they have, is critical election day to get out the vote.
So like every year, you have a candidate with an overwhelming task of going door to door, not getting phone numbers, collecting voter data and unable to compete with Democrat rivals. #8 is right on if the Republicans haven’t started this for next year, they already are behind.
Bill the town is out of control. You need to run for Mayor.

The Taylor Pavilion is a sham. When the final votes were cast I do believe the Belmar residents that voted yes for the rebuilding did not have this venue in mind.
Wonder if they paid to use it for the night ?
Josh needs block captains and avenue captains to organize and provide him with the cell phone numbers of your neighbors to organize one hour meet and greets. Get involved.Make sure your neighbors vote.
I feel bad for the oceanfront commercial owners that can hold weddings (Breakers, Columns and even La Dolce Vita) They pay so much more than Merri Makers for their venues. If only Belmar was making a tenth of the profits we’d be able to pay for the pavilion….because FEMA is certainly not going to at this point.
#4. Thank for the support Bill. I have been walking – I was in your. Neighborhood all morning today. Lots going on! You are right – we need to get me in this year and someone else next year so we can fix some of the things that have occured.
Aileen, Bill, Josh and Brian: Democrat, Republican and Independent Voters know they have been hoodwinked by the current Administration.
We must work together to heal our ills, share any and all data with one goal and that is to win a seat on the Council for ALL THE PEOPLE of Belmar. The new voters list is updated and received by the borough clerk whose obligation it is to give that information out to the people. I suggest daily visits to Borough Hall to get updates through election day. You can obtain a list of registered voters in any manner you choose cross referenced every which way and work from there updating as you go along. I used to like the Rolodex method for Election day is pulling the card and returning same to headquarters. The lists work as well with runners as long as there isn’t a phoney complaint made about runners who legitimatey come to the polls try to pick up the sheets..
#3 NAGT (not a good thing)… the building cost way too much to build and the pavilian was to be for residents, first and foremost. MM is making big profits there and had a jump on booking all the weekends. Its reasons like this that we all need to come together and get me elected. Nothing changes if nothing changes…
I am one person and need your help. Like Bill said – speak to your neighbors. Get the word out there. Schedule facetime with me and the people in your districts that dont know me. I am available – reach out. Door knocking is a slow process and I am trecking, but you are all many voices that can really help me reach more ears quicker.
#17 Aileen, you are spot on. My wife and I got married at Nick’s place and it was great! Perfect for small events and weddings. La Dolce Vita owners run great businesses in Belmar and Nick is a tax payer here. Why would that not be taken into consideration? SMH…

There is a familiar solution to the Taylor issue. Ironically this voter solution was used 2X already by Belmar voters and involved the rebuilding of the pavilion at the heart of the issue. Here it is: Write an ordinance that protects Belmar publically funded municipal buildings, parks and beaches ( L-Street lease to paddleboard business ) from leasing from non-public concerns. The ordinance protects the taxpayers and is common sense.
Then gather the required 10% signatures ( about 350 and force the local government to hold a special election to vote yes or no on the ordinance. That is how its done. I believe Joan Corallo is spot on and that the vote would reflect the upset by those that supported the second special election only to be hoodwinked. Remember Voters won 60/40 at the first Taylor special election. No small margin.
#17. Aileen, is there a reason why you excluded the Waterview Pavilion. Seems that a Belmar business whose entire business is catering events and hold regular Bridal Shows is the biggest loser. How could this large taxpayer ever compete with a publically funded events space?
#24 I believe the word Aileen used was “oceanfront” which The Waterview Pavilion is not. That being said, it is also a huge shame that the Waterview and Riverview are now probably losing business due to Merri Makers taking over Taylor Pavilion. It’s shameful and a slap in the face to all venues in town who pay huge amounts in taxes.
Waterview you are absolutely right and thank you for chiming in! Please accept my apology. I’ve had many memorable times at both your venues. All waterfront catering halls in Belmar is what I should have said. Was thinking of the ocean since that’s the Merri Makers location.
Waterview got fleeced by the other Back door deal and marina grille. What was once a small restaurant in the plan is now a 20k plus building for any and all activities. Blocking views and all but hurting the other businesses in town. Just another example of how this town has been turned upside down by this mayor. Vote them out
Plus the tourist attraction food stinks. View gorgeous and happy hour prices OK.
