Heckuva Job, Fed!

Another interesting NUMBERS GAME  factoid in today’s SUNDAYMONEY section. It now costs $21.85 to buy what $1 would have bought in 1913. The unmentioned significance of 1913 is that the Federal Reserve was created in 1913. It’s mission was to maximize employment, smooth out the business cycle, and protect the value of the dollar.
